Shadowgate of Winter’s Spirit is the monolithic debut album of Atheosophia. The modest beginnings of the project saw the release of a short rehearsal demo that showcased a newfound direction for Taurus. Emphasizing a style of Black Metal more concise and more targeted than other related projects, Atheosophia presents a Nietzschian vision for a siege on Abrahamic ideals and the rebirth of Pagan and arcane identity. Still, nothing could prepare the listener for the evolution from demo to album of Taurus’ immutable, ideological proclamation of black hateful metal.

I really dig Taurus style. He doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but his bm sounds really good.
One of the few bright spots on modern american black metal scene.
Taurus's talents know no bounds. This, and both the new Fellwinter and Gauntlet Ring albums can very well be taking up spaces on my year end list. Admittedly I wasn't as much of a fan of the Arbor album, for whatever reason. But yeah, 3 out of 4's not bad. haha
Nevermind, that Arbor rules afterall. 🤣
Yeah I hit a dead end with the Arbor album myself then gave it another full listen and made the final confirmation of this fantastic 4,all excellent material for sure
@@GatorTroubadour Honestly I think it was the production. They're all somewhat raw, sure, but the Arbor album has a more clean but weird, trebly sound I couldn't get used to initially.

Why do taurus have so many bands lmao?
Each is nuanced by theme and sound, but all have the same amount of pure, raw talent. My personal favorite is Fellwinter, but this project is definitely growing on me.
