About the CV IN for the memory skew, looks like the very first 259e didn't have the "twisted" section and didn't have men skew at all (not even the LEDs), it actually didn't even have the TWISTED in the name, in was just "complex waveform generator". you can see this here ua-cam.com/video/jz1PHtk6wR8/v-deo.html So the "Twisted" section happened at some point, I think it was like an "error" that Don enjoyed particularly, but wasn't intended in the first place
Not sure what’s the deal with digital Buchla. What I like about Buchla is the very “organic,” vectrol sounding tones, timbre. Sure, this thing can make a myriad of sounds. But it totally sounds digital, thin. I’m sticking to my Easel.
I also love what you call the “organic” Buchla sound. I have vintage 259 oscillators as well as 2 x 259e and I think these new 259s are GREAT! Yes, it can sound thin at times but it’s all about knowing how to exploit a machine’s characteristics to your advantage, IMO.
those jumps in volume are jinda annoying and make some of the parameters really hard to be used live.. it would be great to have a way of “normalising” all the waveshapes and morphs so it feels at similar volume... any ideas?
henrique matias I can’t believe I’m going to say this but you could probably use a 230 envelope follower and a control voltage processor to invert and offset the envelope and kind of make a “side-chain compressor” for the low pass gate. So anytime the wave shape jumps the volume up, the inverted envelope would attenuate the signal and smooth out the volume.
@@darksparklermusic haha that was a very creative answer, doesn't sound like a solution to me tough.. i was expecting to have a way of re-uploading the wavetables in a way that the volume would be more uniform..
this video gives a good overview what you can do with the 259e. Thanks for that! But i have to say that the sounds you're playing are bit rough.... maybe at least a section of the video could have shown a bit fine-tuned sounds
Still my favorite digital OSC @41:15... Still a great video guys! Thank U!!
Nice thorough exploration, thanks! Was the song you were thinking of at ~15:00 Warm Leatherette by The Normal, aka Daniel Miller?
I was thinking it might be Imaginary Landscape No. 1 by John Cage, haven’t seen the film though.
Love these videos, subscribed!
So what is the difference between pitch modulation and frequency modulation?
So I’ve waited! Thanks guys!!

It does not have to sound arsh, check this out: ua-cam.com/video/eFQ-lRi8GnU/v-deo.html

@@henriquematias1986 Ahhh. Well you could try reaching out to Buchla USA about it.
Hey, consider writing your names on the back of your hands.
Now that you’ve considered it, carry on. Lol.
😂😂 Great idea!
I would probably end up doing something like this:
