    Respect for slowing down and asking if that guy was ok. You'd think a pro wouldnt give a crap lol.

    Video doesn't do the speed/terrain justice. 60FPS also makes footage look a lot slower than it actually is.

    • @LukeBrinkerhoff
      @LukeBrinkerhoff 6 років тому +1

      ZachAtk1 I guess people like it though, so they don't get sick watching. I've heard that multiple times.

    • @alexlugar4831
      @alexlugar4831 6 років тому +2

      LukeBrinkerhoff if you’re talking about the FPS, he does it so the battery last longer in the gopro. I believe he runs a session but my hero 5 last exactly an hour and a half at 1080p 60FPS. And that’s usually what most people watch UA-cam at. And the stabilization should cover the sickness but no matter what your settings are gopros make it hard to tell the real speed and roughness during races

    • @DrewGorrie
      @DrewGorrie 6 років тому +1

      Locking the GoPro to 30FPS and 1/60th shutter speed while using an ND filter will create the most realistic looking footage. And the battery will last longer.

    • @LukeBrinkerhoff
      @LukeBrinkerhoff 6 років тому +2

      Alex Lugar 60fps will reduce battery life. And that's what he is shooting at.

    • @alexlugar4831
      @alexlugar4831 6 років тому

      LukeBrinkerhoff i mean it’ll save more battery then if he ran a higher FPS, they can run up to like 120 I believe.

    Whoa what I would give to ride a trail like that. Best I could come up with in my area was a trail about 3.5 miles along a rivers edge. No ATV’s back then so it was only single path of 16-24” width. My brother and I would blast fearlessly down that path knowing every inch of the way. So much fun. 63 years old now, but still have the same desire as back then just a little more fragile now. Did Ok riding motocross, but I love riding trails so much more. Thanks for bringing back so many memories. 😎

    He is amazing the way he picks his lines and straightens them as much as possible to keep up his speed.Checking on a rider that goes down shows the true champion he is also.Awesome ride brother.

    Yes exactly, unbelievable that you asked that. Which isn’t good that all of can’t believe it, and you are probably like “really guys, what’s the big deal” but no one does that, and that is awesome sportsmanship, you gained a fan by that right there

    I think what goes underestimated too is the amount of split trail around a single tree. I know it's easy to say just go around it, but sooo many people would end up target fixating on it and clip it or worse...at a fraction of his speed. Takes a lot of solid technique and focus. I would end up in the crowd who maybe not always, but eventually fixated (esp if tired) and clipped one good.

    These guys fly for sure, video doesn't give you the sense of speed. This course is awesome, LOVE woods riding. His bike looks so heavy and unwieldy around corners, makes me wander if they would be faster if bikes were a tad smaller and a lot lighter i.e. purpose built woods bikes. I know KR went back and forth between the 250 xc-f and the 350xc-f and he seems to prefer the 350. I'm not fast by any means but I enjoy smaller bikes and getting in the tight and technical stuff. Oh, well, forgive my dreaming for a minute. If anyone thinks these are purpose built for woods, LOL, save your breath.

    A lot of all the talk here has not mentioned placement of the camera..On top of the helmet is the worst placement for realism..The perspective is completely skewed mounted high on top..Under the visor will get you closest to proper depth and speed as its what we perceive at eye level..Even chin mounts are more realistic.

    • @KailubRussell
      @KailubRussell  6 років тому

      Michael Steven it's been covered bud. Mounting it under the visor isn't going to show less/or more speed. I tried it under the visor, never got the right angle and had trouble finding the lens to wipe the camera.
