I've stated that the caravan park and services are on the M6 Northbound (just north of Junc 38) as that's the direction from which I approached them. However, they're also accessible from the Southbound carriageway!
You can also access or leave the M6 at Tebay Services on both sides (North & South) if you sneakily use the minor access roads used by the service station staff.
Nice one! It is a great stopping off point for Scotland, just swing by late and you have everything you need there and breakfasts / food is always reliable. Loved the drone footage too 👏, thanks.

There are certainly a lot of pitches. Bri & I used to love stopping off at the farm shop on our way back from our travels. We do like the farm shop at Tebay. The showers are excellent there too. We have often parked up on the moors overnight and then gone to the services for breakfast and a shower. Congratulations on hitting 1000 subs xx

Hi thank you, it was a beautiful flight of the drone that day after difficulty finding somewhere to park around the reservoir. Definitely recommend it as a stop off and it could easily accommodate Klaus 😊

Hi, yes Tebay is a fab motorway services and I couldn't fault the site and the fully serviced pitches. You can pay more at some services just to sleep overnight on their car park! A great little site and a big thumbs up from me 👍

Stayed over there once although the year we stopped (2018 I think) they’d decided to completely close the caravan park to build a new HQ on the land so we were up in the car park. Glad they changed their plans re the HQ (so I was told by phone when I called ahead to check) and the actual campsite is open again, it’s much nicer where you were than where we were in the car park :)
I didn’t know about that. Yes the car park would be much less appealing. On the caravan park you wouldn’t know you were just a spit and a stride from the M6. It was very peaceful 😊

Hi Sue. Finally got round to adding comments to vlogs, having got building work finished at home. Interested to see the Tebay vlog as maybe 13/14 years ago, before we had a gap from caravanning, we stopped at Tebay for an overnight on the way to Scotland. Have to say that back then it was pretty poor, but it looks much improved now, particularly the facilities block. Getting a food voucher is a bonus as it's a great stop for eating - we always use it for trips "home" so Scotland if we're not in the caravan. Absolutely loved the "Fat Lamb" / Cumbria vlog. The drone shots were to die for (we just have to get one!), and the nature walk was just lovely. Thanks for sharing that one. We've also now watched all your Scottish trip vlogs and loved those. We've never really toured the eastern coastal area, but your stops, particularly at Banchory have given us food for thought, and we're planning an east of Scotland tour for next year that takes in Balbirnie, Banchory, Stonehaven and round to Inverness/Dingwall via Cullen. Your van with Bri was nearly the same layout as ours then. We loved the reflection drone shots at the beginning, beautiful. Gotta love a reflection. Have scoured Google Earth before for a place to park up at Killington Reservoir as we've made pitstops at Killington Lakes before and saw the reservoir on Google Earth, but can't see anywhere to park up which is such a shame. Advantages of a little van like yours. Thought the site looked in a nice setting and good value with the voucher too.
Yes our van was very similar to your layout, I always think that when you show inside yours 😊. Killington was sooo difficult to park at even with my little van. The boat club had a barrier at the entrance. I'd also looked on google earth before I set off and spotted a car park but that was signed as a "Private Fishing Club Car Park" There were some fishermen around too so I couldn't chance it even for a few minutes 😆. It certainly doesn't seem very welcoming of visitors around the reservoir. I was actually driving away having given up when I found that little layby and parked up for a quick 20 mins. I really didn't want to miss the chance to get the drone up because it was like a milk pond on there that day and the lighting was perfect 😃.
@@CamperVanya glad it wasn't just me who couldn't find anywhere on Google Earth then lol. Some places don't seem friendly even for cars.🤔 No, couldn't miss out on footage like that. It was beautiful.

Do you like the light? 🤣. I’m glad I could share this little gem which I only found out about recently through a friend. I found a video on youtube to work the heater. It goes through setting it up but at 1 minute 50 explains how to actually work it - ua-cam.com/video/HL70ybs6dqQ/v-deo.html In the past I was randomly pressing buttons and eventually it worked but often I was going into ventilation mode so not getting any heat. Now I’m toasty in the van 😊. Good luck!

Great video and we have been to those services but not the campsite. One of the better places to eat on the motorway. I wonder why more service areas don't do this as there is always waste ground surrounding them that could be utilised. I have considered truck stops, there are some really good ones such as Greasy Lil's on the A5 near Cannock, only trouble is they charge the same price for a van as they do an artic so even with the meal voucher not a cheap night.
Hi, we are so far behind in this country providing such facilities aren't we 🙄. I wasn't aware of this site either until a friend mentioned it so I wanted to do a video tour of it because I know it'll be a useful stop off for many. Tebay is one of the best motorway services I've been to and even with the caravan site they've gone above and beyond with their super pitches (ehu, water, grey waste on each), spotless toilets & showers, etc. Many might just have provided the basics. It's reasonably priced too when you think what some services charge just for parking on the their car park overnight, like you say. As well as a stop over it's actually well located to visit the lakes, yorkshire, etc. Ps. I'm not affiliated or on commission 🤣 I just really rate it.

Hi Ian, thank you. You really should try it it's a great stopover or even a good base to explore the area. Very quiet, reasonably priced and great breakfasts & farmshop at the services. I enjoyed the drone flight the conditions were perfect 👍
Your van with Bri was nearly the same layout as ours then. We loved the reflection drone shots at the beginning, beautiful. Gotta love a reflection. Have scoured Google Earth before for a place to park up at Killington Reservoir as we've made pitstops at Killington Lakes before and saw the reservoir on Google Earth, but can't see anywhere to park up which is such a shame. Advantages of a little van like yours. Thought the site looked in a nice setting and good value with the voucher too.
Yes our van was very similar to your layout, I always think that when you show inside yours 😊. Killington was sooo difficult to park at even with my little van. The boat club had a barrier at the entrance. I'd also looked on google earth before I set off and spotted a car park but that was signed as a "Private Fishing Club Car Park" There were some fishermen around too so I couldn't chance it even for a few minutes 😆. It certainly doesn't seem very welcoming of visitors around the reservoir. I was actually driving away having given up when I found that little layby and parked up for a quick 20 mins. I really didn't want to miss the chance to get the drone up because it was like a milk pond on there that day and the lighting was perfect 😃.
@@CamperVanya glad it wasn't just me who couldn't find anywhere on Google Earth then lol. Some places don't seem friendly even for cars.🤔 No, couldn't miss out on footage like that. It was beautiful.

In the past I was randomly pressing buttons and eventually it worked but often I was going into ventilation mode so not getting any heat. Now I’m toasty in the van 😊. Good luck!

Great video and we have been to those services but not the campsite. One of the better places to eat on the motorway. I wonder why more service areas don't do this as there is always waste ground surrounding them that could be utilised. I have considered truck stops, there are some really good ones such as Greasy Lil's on the A5 near Cannock, only trouble is they charge the same price for a van as they do an artic so even with the meal voucher not a cheap night.
Hi, we are so far behind in this country providing such facilities aren't we 🙄. I wasn't aware of this site either until a friend mentioned it so I wanted to do a video tour of it because I know it'll be a useful stop off for many. Tebay is one of the best motorway services I've been to and even with the caravan site they've gone above and beyond with their super pitches (ehu, water, grey waste on each), spotless toilets & showers, etc. Many might just have provided the basics. It's reasonably priced too when you think what some services charge just for parking on the their car park overnight, like you say. As well as a stop over it's actually well located to visit the lakes, yorkshire, etc.
