This line. *THIS LINE* sums Link more than anything else. Because of Ganon's curse, the Hero is reborn always and undergoes into so much pain. No matter how many times he wakes up he will always carry the burden of being the Hero and yet he just wants to *LIVE*

The Hero of time cursed to be forgotton from the world he saved.
His Deeds unwritten and sent back.
Lived his live with remorse for he could not live the live he wished.
Lost his only companion that linked him to a time where he was known has a hero.
Searching for his companion he stumbled across a parallel world where people where the same yet there lives, oh so diffrenent.
Saved a forgotton and lost city from there own moon.
Left again to continue his search.
Failed.
Joined the Royale Guard of the kingdom, he once saved all on his own, never rememberd.
Fought a war he never wanted, and got lost in the Woods.
Forgotton from a time once lived and lived again, now alone once more.
Slowly succumbing to the magic of the woods, now Hylian no more.
Waiting for a heart of courage to show that the world can live on without him.
Meeting and teaching said heart and watching it grow.
Being struck by a blade he once held in a time long forgotton both then and there.
He now knows that his burden has been lifted, the world didn't need him anymore.
He cried in his new lives shoulder, has all the weight gets taken of.
He takes his long rusted helmet off... and smiles.
He can finally see his loved ones once again, and finally after so long,
He can rest.

Bruh twilight Link is his biological son tho and his hair color is that of mix of Malon's and Link's hair colors also he knew the song owns Epona and lived in a village close to lost woods and old hyrule castle town (the temple of time) so I think getting with Malon and going to the kokir forest during the war should be there and then he joins the war and dies not being able to ever see his boy until way later only realizing that twilight Link was his boy in his final lesson.
As one of his regrets was never teaching someone his techniques and his final line in the game is "good luck my son" so that person twilight Link his son he waited all those years for him to finally meet him to see him and teach him and then finally he took his armor off telling his son that'd he'd always watch over and that this was his job now and good luck.

The fact that it is canon that he continued looking for Navi until his death in the war and being turned into the hero shade is heartbreaking he never gave up on finding his best friend he gave everything to find them… I hope they met in the afterlife..

I think the hero of time needs some respect because he literally saw the future and tries to prevent it and try to stop a moon that ends the world and what did he got for saving the world twice? Became a stalfos that wonders around, great. I feel sorry for this link

I think he was
The way he acted in OOT I think he actually did know exactly what he was talking, the salesman was from Termina and found the passage to hyrule he was the first one too travel between the worlds I'm guessing it did something to his brain allowing him to have a higher perception and maybe be able to read some people's story based off there actions, so perhaps he saw the hero time's story by watching him seeing his suffering.
And his comments was his empathy towards the forgotten hero who was only reconsized as a hero by Zelda and the king, as well as the high up guards, and Gerudo.
And I like too think sense Termina was the original hyrule according to in game lore, I think Majora was Termina's Demise but Firce deity Link, Link's Termina counterpart sealed him so all of Majora's mask was him leading Link there to wield the spirt of his Termina counterpart sense only he could in order for him too have his rematch/revenge but Firce deity Link and Link worked together proving they were better than him fair and square, thus causing his hatred to leave finally excepting that fact, and while no one in Termina really thanked Link, he lost his mask meaning all the spirits moved on but they knew of his heroics and I like to think Firce deity Link thanked him on behalf of Termina understanding his story figuring the least he could do is thank him on behalf of his lands people for saving there land before he moved on, a hero to hero moment, as the masksales man's cryptic words may have been a warning of his future and that's why he looked sad before leaving back home through whatever path the giants opened for him, knowing it wouldn't be easy but he went looking anyway for Navi eventually helping people and traveling the world until eventually receiving a letter from Zelda in soul calibur 2, returning home leaving Epona with Malon a girl he quite liked, and then he pulled the blade out, as his future son arrived there moments after and left moments before he returned his sword, heading back to Lon Lon ranch living there eventually moving back to his home forest with her after her father died, and survivors in the hylian and gerudo war, fled there.
And Link eventually left to go end the war wearing his new armor inspired from his journeys and the world of soul calibur that he had been too, and he eventually died in the war with the soldiers hearing his story turning on Gannon leading to his imprisonment as Link died regretting never being able to teach his son TP Link his skills only realizing in his final lesson with him that TP Link wasn't a reincarnation but his son, he finally got to meet and teach him everything, finally moving on passing the torch to his son.
OMG I DID NOT CRY WHEN LINK CRIED AND SMILED BEFORE DISAPPEARING THAT WAS TOO GOOD!!! HOW DID YOU DO THIS??!! THIS IS AMAZING!! THIS COMES FROM A TRUE ZELDA FAN WHO'S FIRST GAME WAS OCARINA OF TIME.

The hero who lost everything for nothing. He saved the world high road and the world of terminal got no recognition. The hero had met a terrible fate, no matter what would happen, he would always be forgotten no one would recognize his abilities, nor would he be able to live up to the to his accomplishments in the future. Because now he had to live a life where he was no longer that hero. He was just a boy, now a boy who had nothing, a boy who lost everything, his friends, his ferry and even. His life, even in the afterlife, he is only recognised by one person. so the hero of time, or the forgotten hero truly met a terrible fate
Well he got malon and he calls twilight Link his son in his final 2 lines of dialog in the game, and remember he regretted more than anything not teaching a certain someone his techniques, so it makes sense that in his final lesson he finally opened his eyes realizing the man he's been teaching was in fact his boy the one he'd been waiting for all those years in the after life and then he finally moves on telling his boy that this was his job now and he'll always be watching him and to have good luck. As he finally moved on finally being able to see all those he knew his friends and family while his son protected the land of hyrule now.
Honestly this song perfectly captures the sad story of the hero of time link..

I decided to add English subtitle for this video. It might be a little different from the original song since I tried to make it fit the story of this particular video but not that far off.

If Link knew how messed up going back to his childhood was going to be, he’d rip that damn ocarina from Zelda’s hands and smash it. He missed out 7 years, so what? In other words he missed out on being forgotten by all the people he helped saved, being in a nightmare fuelled town filled with death and a freaky ass moon crashing on him. He missed out on dying with regrets and turning into a skeleton ghost. Most of all, he missed out on experiencing PUBERTY.
Wait, I just realized. Was Termina destroyed during the Adult Link adventure? Or was that whole situation brought about by Zelda sending him back?
Tbh link never wanted to be a hero. All he wanted is to live a good life... So I can understand sending him back
I love how this song just feels like how I feel when I play a Zelda game. Every Hero echoing in my mind, along with the one I'm playing as.

It makes me emotional because it reminds me of how much i loved navi, i never once found navi annoying. It made me not feel so lonely, i liked her a lot as a companion the moment i stepped into majoras mask and realised navi is gone it actually hurt. I bet the people who found her annoying were happy...
Honestly thinking about navi now makes me upset yet nostalgic
Took the words out of my mouth. Even as a kid, loosing navi felt like a smack in the face after all of the hell that Link and the player went through story wise. Majora's mask is my favorite Zelda game because I can only Imagine what the lack of navi is doing to link mentally, on top of the phenomenal story telling already present,
navi was great... she was there for the hero who had gone through the most...
