She had the best time after she crosses the finishing line and looked back at the streif. She smiled, was happy and proud of herself. Congrats Lindsay. Thank you for your fantastic performance over the years.
The Queen of Speed. You can see her energy is through the roof - super stoked and super grateful to experience that “rush” once again and the tears of joy to really, truly, feel alive and at Peace. Awesome…
I was thinking the same thing... I've done a fair bit of local amateur racing at half the speed at night, which sucks... I really would be intrigued to hear if this was a consideration or if at that level, the night was more gimmick than risk
Wow, amazing! That's insane! She never raced the Streif (as far as I know), then she does it in the dark?!?! Huge respect. This is a nice, epic run. However, they should have let her do it on race day as well. She deserves a real run, not just for the show. I bet she would do great. I hope they let her one day at least do one of those on-board camera runs before a race. Though I'd prefer to see her full speed, no compromise (don't get me wrong, she still sent it, but I guess not 100%). The tears at the end, so touching. Like "I've finally done it". Still, I'd love to see her on race day.
I have skied that pitch when it was well groomed and soft snow. TV doesn't do justice to how steep parts of it are. This was an amazing feat. History making. Now, "come on guys, step up."
The only woman who could maybe run her close is Katja Seizinger. But I think she is still the best. I still remember her and Julia Mancuso coming up through the ranks as very young racers.
Very emotional. There’s joy, but also real grief at what has passed and skiing that way again clearly brought it back. There is no joy without pain. Or love without grief. Two sides of the same coin.
That's deep. You must be unemployed or underemployed musician with a lot of time on your hands. BTW- think ya got enough keyboards dude? Ya might want to sell them all and buy ONE Minimoog Model D or OB-X8 Synth. For all things holy, sound treat your room. 101 stuff.
@@MOAB-UT Got any other unsolicited advice for me? I actually got more synths now. A Moog one 16 voice. It’s amazing what I can afford being an ‘underemployed musician’. And I manage to work AND think about shit. Amazing right!? 😉
Fantastic footage of one of the all time greatest speed skiers doing what she loves! I’ll bet the adrenaline rush exceeded the fear factor! Rock on Lindsey! Wish we could have a bootcam video top to bottom.
I saw this course at a distance when I skied at Kitzbuhel. It looks really scary in person lol. She is badass for skiing it at night! She is an amazing ski racer!!!!
Very emotional to watch that - quite a spectacle. I'm assuming that was one run & not a composite of a number of runs. Either way you can still see the forces at work on her body - she's obviously still very fit just to be able to deal with those forces. It was so dark that parts of it looked impossible - really added to the intensity.
I saw the video on Red Bull TV where it looked like she stopped in the middle of a run. I am curious to know if she did it nonstop. In either case, it was epic.
Considering how far you're skiing "past what you can see" - and the fact that your legs and feet just have to react without a lot of planning benefit from your mind? Maybe skiing it at night isn't that much more dangerous than skiing it at speed during the day?
Downhill skiers are crazy but to do that course IN THE DARK is beyond crazy and I don’t count those “nightlights” as much help. Much respect to Vonn, amazing. I would be scared to do that in the day. Or even walk down that
She said that since she's due for another knee operation anyway, that she might as well do this. Even if she hurt herself, she was going to get knee surgery soon anyway. An example of elite athlete mindset.
Shiffrin may be the best technical skier in the world but Vonn has the most grit and determination of any skier. Everyone thinks Goggia is the bad ass, but Lindsey has much more determination than Goggia. Being able to come back from so many injuries separates Vonn from any male or female skier.
I knew someone was going to say this. Her top speed was 60 mph, the men usually go more than 90 mph. Of course, she's been retired for 4 years, needs knee surgery, and it was at night.
@@asquare9316 I was going to say I’d like to see her forerun to get a time but I thought that would be insulting to Lindsey, but that was impressive to see her go down that course under the lights from the top start too!
watch Mikaela, probably the best ski racer ever in terms of technique. She broke Lindsay's world cup wins record yesterday, and extended that lead today. She's still only 27. Incredible!!
1. She always wanted to compete against male skiers.....2. no any woman skier ever did downhill in Kitzbühel-most dangerous track in alpine skiing...3. she has always been great competitor and this was challenge she wanted to do while she still can
She had the best time after she crosses the finishing line and looked back at the streif. She smiled, was happy and proud of herself. Congrats Lindsay. Thank you for your fantastic performance over the years.

Absolutely insane to do the Streif in some sections in the dark at that speed. Wow, just wow Lindsey!!! That is super hard core!
Divine💪😎😍
I was thinking the same thing... I've done a fair bit of local amateur racing at half the speed at night, which sucks... I really would be intrigued to hear if this was a consideration or if at that level, the night was more gimmick than risk
she likes the "dark"
My all time favourite female skier.,I met her on two occasions in Bansko amazing competitor and great person! We are gonna miss you Lindsay!!!
The Lady still has IT.
AWESOME.
Yes and now she is back, maybe it was this that convinced her

When Red Bull is involved, you know it's Epic...
I have skied that pitch when it was well groomed and soft snow. TV doesn't do justice to how steep parts of it are. This was an amazing feat. History making. Now, "come on guys, step up."
Wouldn't even try it in full bright sunshine let alone in the dark! Kudos Lindsey!
Man, that takes some serious nerve and skill to ski that beast at night!
Still the best downhill skier !! Alone on that slope with so many dark almost blind spots. She's the queen of downhill.
Are you joking ?
The only woman who could maybe run her close is Katja Seizinger. But I think she is still the best. I still remember her and Julia Mancuso coming up through the ranks as very young racers.

Love the LED gates, the boot cam and the goggle cam! Brilliant as usual, Red Bull.
brought me to tears . . . nuff said
incredible pictures!
I find the end of the video extremely touching.
night riding blue groomers is scary enough.
this is unthinkable.
That was freakin' AMAZING, Lindsey!! The Streif is already hard enough for most to handle under daytime conditions!
Still on another level!! Amazing!
The definition of badass. What an absolute legend.
collective human effort generates the most hope and trust. thank you for creating the experience.
Lindsey - you are incredible! Forever, the Queen of Speed!
She is only 38 dude. Relax. Lemme guess- you are single? Find a new hero, her skiing days are behind her.
I bet she had fun skiing that course and hill. Good to know she has not forgotten how to ski.
Lindsey great, drone pilot great, everything great ❤
Lindsey Vonn & Julia Mancuso: still the great, the fast, the beauty.
So. This. Hhappened! She made it look easy...in the f'n dark across the zielschuss....I'm crying joy for you
Wow!!! Still throwing down still strong thanks
Amazing!
As usual, Lindsey sends it! This girl has nerves of steel.
I saw this course at a distance when I skied at Kitzbuhel. It looks really scary in person lol. She is badass for skiing it at night! She is an amazing ski racer!!!!
Awesome! That was impressive! 🙂
Only her can do something like this after being out of competition for few years!!! Speed queen, love you
That was so cool
Seriously intense. I now need to find out the full story here.
di notte!!! Questa rimane la più grande!
That was wonderful and the filming amazing.
Absolutely amazing!!!
Well done, Lindsay, the spirit is always there!
That is INSANE!!!
Lindsey is the greatest skier

That girl has some cajones!!!!
The need for speed! Really awesome video. Bravo.
That must have been SO. MUCH. FUN!!!
PK couldn't handle the speed!

Skied that like a Boss.
Amazing! 💪💪💪💪💪
That drone footage of her exploding out the gate really gives the viewer just how damn fast she is.
Wish they showed a speed trap of how fast they be going
Magnificent !
Amazing!!!! WOW! Unique Lindsay 🔝❤
She still has it!! Seems like suicidal run, but epic! great content!
agree

Kompliment an L. Vonn! 👍👍👍
What an elegant fearless athlete !
Still got it - knees are probably better than they have been in years!
She said before that she's in pain all the time now. All that cartilage has been removed.
She said that since she's due for another knee operation anyway, that she might as well do this. Even if she hurt herself, she was going to get knee surgery soon anyway. An example of elite athlete mindset.
That lady belongs right up there with best athletes of all time! So special to see her on skis one more time👍
Mito assoluto!
Qué talento tienes con los esquís!!!
That's insanely awesome!
You be careful baby girl! From an "Old fan!"

Coole aufnahme,ist besser als helmkamera
Unbelievable girl that Lindsay, super talented and beautiful. What a girl
La Migliore !!!!
Brilliant and beautiful... and the skiing wasn't bad either.
Love it!
Magic!!!
Well done young lady !
Легенда!
I vote bib #1 on men’s downhill race day!

WOW is still in great shape. I haven't watched alpine skiing since she retired
Keep an eye on Mikaela Shiffrin. She'll bring you back.

Queen Lindsey❤️
Grande Lind...
The best ever ❤
What drone that can fly that fast ?
Super girl!!!👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Qieen of Speed!🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Lindsey - that was slow and boring
Me - AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
why?
Because it's there
1. She always wanted to compete against male skiers.....2. no any woman skier ever did downhill in Kitzbühel-most dangerous track in alpine skiing...3. she has always been great competitor and this was challenge she wanted to do while she still can
Still got it.
“Slow ta fuq down, Jesus.” - the drone
I love this woman. Number 1 ever.
I wonder what sort of time she got.
You fly!
Потрясающе 👍
Wow, that is unbelievably dangerous. Glad she made it down in one piece.
Wow very nice video Lindsey Vonn is a tough girl she has crashed hard a few times but as I said she is a tough girl and very nice too.
#Amazing #Athlete!!!!
She was practically in the dark! Uau
What a Woman, just takes your breath away!
That looks scary!
Lindsey our Speed Queen
phantastic ride and where is Gogga the Italy Speed Queen ?
Amazing
"the first woman to ever ski the Streif" - can't be true!
Only men compete on the Streif. I'm sure other women have casually gone down this hill. But, not at full speed and at night.
Se .....bisogna avere TWOBALLS GIGAS a farla di giorno......è ininnaginabile a farla BY NIGHT....vedendo quasi NIENTE......MY BEST COMPLIMENTS
Insane👌
Shows up at night
Beats all the competitors times for the competition taking place that week
Doesn’t elaborate
