    Long Beach
We finally visited Brat Style in Long Beach!
They don't usually take interviews but kindly accepted our offer this time.
The bikes and shop are obviously cool, but Go and Masumi are cooler than anything in the shop🔥

Great to see so many Indians. They're incredibly rare here in the UK, and the ones you do see are normally full showroom restorations, and rarely ridden.

Gotta love a Hot Rodded motorsickle! Indians are so rare too. A Guy called Dennis found a Chief (1947) at the bottom of the garden, in a shed, of the old lady that lived next door to his mother-in-law. This was in Middlesbrough, North East England. He would not have ever know about it but was chatting to the old lady about his daily street bike and she mentioned that her deceased husband's bike stood in the damp shed at the bottom of her garden. She did not know what to do with the bike, or even that it was, or could be, worth quite a lot of money. Dennis asked to take alike at it and found what was to be expected after many years being stored in a damp shed. Plenty of rust, but plenty of good parts and a bike well worth putting the effort into restoring. He took 3-5 years to totally restore the bike, which happened to be a rare, even for America, model.
He did a superb job of restoring the bike and had a good deal of attention from around the world. This was over 20 years ago and internet connections were not easy and parts searched even harder! Sadly, a terrible twist of fate occurred when Deniis who rode to work daily, was knocked off his Honda by a drunk driver one early evening as he rode home from work. His bike and he was hit by the car and both smashed into a steel road barrier! This accident could have easily killed Dennis but he survived. He is now wheelchair bound but made a fantastic recovery from very near death. On of the consequences of the accident meant that he ultimately had to sell the Indian Chief. Because he could not ride the bike anymore and because he couldn't work in the same way he had done, Dennis was an excellent engineering machinist, the bike was sold. I don't know for certain, but i believe the Chief went to America as it was a rare model and in such excellent condition. Believe, though I may be wrong on the facts, that the bike sold for £50,000, which I guess would be more like £100,000 today.
I've two other folks who ride Indians, Neil from Derbyshire who's owned a Scout and a Chief at different times. He like the '50s Rock 'n' Roll scene and rode his bikes all over Britain to attend Hemsby and Camber Sands and other Rockin' events as well as plenty go bike runs. The other guy, I don't know so well, but he's the life partner of my friend Sue and he's owned his Red Indian Chief many years too and has rode many-many miles to Hot Rod shows and Rock 'n' Roll gigs and weekends, here in Britain.
I loved watch this presentation and have subscribed to the channel. Hopefully you will show many other vintage American and British bikes soon? Have a great day and many long and good miles riding!
