Watch one of the key moments in the Civil War come alive beginning with period music and the entire story of the battle that began with a surprise attack on the Union encampment of Maj. Gen. Philip Sheridan by Confederate Lt. Gen. Jubal Early across Cedar Creek. This battle marked the end of the northern invasion, left the Shenandoah Valley's economy vulnerable to attack, helped secure the re-election of Abraham Lincoln and made Sheridan a national military hero.

A fighting girl? Now that's a first. I've heard stories of female "spy's" and such, like the story of Molly Morehead, who alerted Nathan Bedford Forrest about yankee cavalry in the area. I've also heard a few stories about other young women helping the CS cause, but not actually fighting in numbers portrayed by modern reenactors. Back then, they disguised themselves so you couldn't tell they were women. just my two cents as a bullheaded kid. :) Keep at it, it's better than what kids these days do.
On Saturday, October 18th. we drove the 3 hours from central Pennsylvania, to Middletown to experience the best re-enactment I have ever witnessed. We spent the entire day, enjoyed The Cavalry Battle of Tom's Brook and then The Battle of Third Winchester. In between battles, we visited the Federal camp, and toured and spent money on Sutlers Row. Next year, we are doing both Saturday and Sunday. Thank you so much for posting !!

@ 18:20 would include my Great Grandfather "William J. Pillow". He was only 19 years old & I often think how close I came to not being here. He was enlisted in the 13th West Virginia, Company B in Hayes = 2nd Division. I've got letters he wrote while at Cedar Creek & Winchester. Hope to make it to the Battlefield this Spring. Thanks, for taking the time to do this video. It's appreciated.

Wonderful video, thank you for making it. I will have to agree with Gary Whitla though, seeing the farbs takes away from your creation for a reenactor such as myself.

Great quality footage, with some mistakes like garbage bags, sunny d bottles, hamburger bun bags, etc. I love the cavalry in the creek part.
