I'm glad you pointed out how much the live-action execution limits the show, it's so true. Of all the premises you could try to pull off this way (especially when production is clearly cheap), one that involves a ton of fantasy is probably the worst since it nerfs like 95% of what you can do with it. They took one of the most iconic things about the show and already fucked it up lmao
Nerfed is the perfect way to put that. I can’t wait to watch the show and laugh at every single forced wish that is made.

The fact FoP is coming back as a live action show feels like I've just been SUPER MEGA POWER PUNCHED into the wall behind me a 984 mph.
I didn't think the 2D animation would look LAZIER than the live-action, and yet somehow it does.
I think it was just one guy who did it all, so given that context, kudos to the poor soul that they hired for the task.

I don't know if this scene came after the everything he touches turning to gold wish but you'd think either way he'd learn that wishing for gold doesn't work out. Should have wished for more brain cells for everyone in the show.

I'm not one to shout "But the source material." buuuut.... How does Timmy have children AND fairies? I'm pretty sure having children involves a "grown up" act Fairies also come to children who are uber sad... Neither of the kids look sad... The girl might be bummed because she had to move, but not lowest point sadness. Who did Timmy marry? It better not be someone from elementary school, because that shows a lack of growing out of your home town/ school life. although that would explain why he still has fairies.

Okay I found ONE part of this show that was funny. Her brother saying the famous Bubsy line “what could possibly go wrong?” Typically when someone says that in a show almost everything goes wrong. These people are all jokes.
Also that child did the whole Elvis hip thing when he was talking about wanting pants and I’m not ok with that

And this is my opinion about... THIS.
And I was like "What did they do... to Timmy Turner? What did they do.... to my favorite character: Timmy Turner?" I know he's just an actor, but the tell you the truth, it looks awful. They ruined my favorite childhood Nickelodeon's animated TV series that I grew up. 😟
these are great. you gotta do some reviews of nicktoons too. like the channel and stuff. that wuld be awesome.

Honestly, im in my early 30s, even when this show was new it was of dubious quality compared to its contemporaries. The era of doug, hey arnold etc was all a few years before this show had happened, this show was more in the Spongebob era. If you go back and watch the original series youll see that the writing wasnt really that great.

Of all the butch hartman related nickelodeon properties they coulda turned into a live action show, they chose Fairly Oddparents? I mean those live action fairly oddparents tv movies with drake bell were okay, those had some of the original cartoons' wit and charms but this is just a disaster. You know what could've fit with a live action style? Danny Phantom! Like we have all these dark gritty shows about teens or adults fighting or coexisting with the paranormal and supernatural right? (Stranger Things, Charmed, Supernatural, X-Files, Buffy the vampire slayer, etc), so why didn't they just turn Danny Phantom into a live action show with the same premise except it's a bit darker than what the og show was (but not as cringy and weird as Riverdale and that Winx Club netflix reboot were). Or we coulda gotten a new season that was more mature but still watchable and enjoyable by kid and adults alike. Like, that's just... Idk why Nickeldeon is shitting on their own ips and Idk why butch hartman is letting them do that.

I know butch is disappointed. No OG characters like Crocker or vickey, Plus they didn’t even have baby poof in it just another parallel universe without him. The 2d style kinda fit good but off instead of the cgi one. For years I really wish Nickelodeon would just give us Danny Phantom back.
