Pegasus just recently released a new (German) version of Kitchen Rush with vastly improved artwork, mechanics and a scenario based approach to make the learning of the game a lot easier. Can definitely recommend!
so interesting hearing everyone’s opinions on uwe’s Tetris games! I like cottage garden the best, then Indian Summer, then Arraial (not uwe I know) and last patchwork... and Spring Meadow looks boring to me 😜
I grew tired of Mysterium due to the length. Dixit rules! M&M is great too, but shows its age - take a look at The Pirate Republic. NY Slice looks good :) I sooo much need to try Kitchen Rush, missed the kickstarter and regretted that many times. Fake Artist is a great game, love it. Sadly I can't findt the wooden version of JunkArt anymore, my daughters favourite game. How fares your Patreon campaign? Cheers
I think the new 3.0 edition of Junk Art uses wooden pieces. Seems like the way to go: www.reddit.com/r/boardgames/comments/dv0xmm/which_version_of_junk_art_to_get/f7a5a71/
I've not played Mysterium but I'm looking at getting Detective Club which has a similar art style. On that note, My fav Murder mystery game at the minute is Awkward Guests. A little set up/break down is needed to sort what cards you need but so much more thinking about who and how the murder was committed.
A Fake Artist Goes to NY looks good, and I haven't heard of that before. Spring Meadow looks pretty good, too. Fake Artist is definitely going on the wishlist though. I want to get Letter Jam for my sister this Christmas, but it's out of stock most places... might do Fake Artist instead. Junk Art is already on my wishlist - have you tried Menara? It's a good co-op dexterity game.
If you rate games on BGG as you play them (or remember them) you'll quickly build up a list of games, and can check your own profile and sort by rating to get your top N (have to handle tiebreakers of course).
Jon where the bleep did you get eye my favorite things?? Looks like the only way to get is to book a flight to japan! :) (couldn't even find it on amazon.jp, in all fairness didnt look thaaat hard there)
I got it in Essen 2018. It was in very limited quantity. I'm afraid it won't be available until it gets reprinted by a bigger publisher. Sorry to disappoint!
Still have New Angeles on my shelf of shame. Man I need to find a good group for this, it sounds amazing, but not like a game that I could play with everyone.
we played it and my group of friends was super bored and uninterested. It went immediately to the 'resell' pile. I guess it just didnt work with us. I think you need very competitive people for it to be good
Cool games 😁👍 Happy that I got Kitchen Rush at Essen Spiel. I like what Pegasus did with it; making it more accessible to a wider audience. 😊 New Angeles is a tough, but great game. Only played it once, but it left a lasting impression. 😀
I believe it’s currently only in the Japanese market. Importing from japan is generally pretty expensive so finding someone to bring it back from a holiday is best. Failing that, you can muddle through Japanese OLGSes with google translate
@@actualol Perhaps but awful lot of party games and light games up here hehe. Nothing wrong with it otherwise. People are different after all. But let's see the rest of the list. :)
@@lokihve6591 The rest of the list is what matters most. If he has a 40 party games but the top 10 games are all heavy I wouldn't necessarily say that he is a "light" gamer.
He's an Omni Gamer. I can relate; I prefer mid - heavy games but when it comes to my collection but by their very nature I feel like my light & party games see much more play.
Never even heard of Famous Last Lines and it sounds really fun! Thanks Jon. I do like your list always has lighter / family games on it.
That was the game from the list that stood out to me too. lol :-) I may need to track down a copy... sounds like a blast. :-D
New Angeles reminds me a lot of Archipelago. I might prefer the theme though, hmm.
Fake Artist has a tremendous amount of delight packed into a tiny box. I’m enjoying the list - thank you!
I am loving the series.

Yes, I just wish it was in English!
@@actualol At the moment we are working on english rules and english games for the european market :)
This series is excellent. Just in time for Christmas shopping!
Great to see Merchants & Marauders here. I really like it but sadly my group hate it.

It looks boring but it's the best one!
Omg Merchants and Marauders... Sold my copy because i have played the shizzle out of that game... But a great great game

Since starting the pledge drive, we're 74% of the way to reaching the goal - which is amazing. :)

How does one even rank their favorite 50 games? Just go on BGG and look through the games and find favorites? So glad you did it though!

Nice channel! I only can not agree with New York Slice being 35th best boardgame of all time..
My group didn't like new York slice. They prefer for sale for a light game.

My favorite dexterity game in the world: Arbos.
Actually I prefer obscurio over mysterium

New Angeles way too low.
Unless it is also in your top 10.
That game looks awesome, but how often can you play a 2-4 hour game?
@@GnarledCypress not often enough D:
You are a light gamer Actualol aren't you?
I wouldn't say that, no. Merchants and Marauders and New Angeles are both 3+ hour long games.
