This week we have track #6, Don't Tread On Me. This is one of the songs I was not looking forward to recording because of the hi-hat shuffle pattern Lars does throughout the song. I just knew it wasn't going to sound right but I had to do it...kind of. 😏 I decided to not play this shuffle pattern during the verses as I felt those parts should be more toned down on the drums. Honestly, I think it worked out well but you guys tell me! It took me a little bit to figure out the tom groove Lars plays in the Pre-Chorus' and I think I played it correctly...at least it sounds correct to me. 🤷♂️ LOL. All in all, it was kind of fun to play and glad that one is checked off the list. 🤣😂 NEXT!

There are a few people looking forward to the Through The Never release; I wonder why. 🤔 As I've said before, I think Wherever I May Roam was my best performance but watching Through The Never a few minutes ago, it's pretty solid as well. I appreciate you taking the time to watch every release and glad I can bring back those memories to when music was rockin'!
OH BTW, I finally got around to watching your Smashing Pumpkins drum cover from yesterday; tight man! Love Jimmy's drumming on that record, although Gish & Simese Dreams are still my favorites, Machina is a very underrated album from SP...Have a great New Year!

Whoa whoa..wait a minute Bill! I could never do some of the stuff Lars does. If they ever do a 40th anniversary tour and play just the Black Album...maybe. And even then, some of these drum fills are friggin ridiculous to remember and pull off night after night. Well on the otherhand, Lars doesn't even play the songs correctly anymore either, so I guess it would all be the same. 😂🤣 Appreciate the comment and thank you for the continued support!
On another note how do you like those 2 piece hi hats I have a single piece setup but I have been debating getting a 2 piece setup
I like them. Before this kit, I had a Roland TD-7 kit with all rubber pads, so moving to this was a huge upgrade. I still struggle getting them to trigger 100% perfectly with Superior Drummer 3, so I fix alot of mis- triggering in post. I think I play too hard or I don't have the cymbals opened up enough on the stand. But the feel is great!
