I have a 1990 (Base model I believe) The AC control knobs are located next to the glove box, not over-head. The AC system holds a charge, all three of the fuses; 20A, 20A & 50A, are all good. The blower fans turn on as they should, but I have no voltage reaching the clutch (measured at the clutch with the AC turned to max). I verified function of AC Compressor Clutch Relay and the Evaporator relay as stand alone components. Could it be the Diode? (I don't know exactly where it is located(?). Any further guidance is much appreciated.
I jump-started the clutch. It popped a bit loud, but then the compressor kicked on and it has worked ever since. It's a little bizarre, but I'm not complaining. Maybe something was just a little rusted stuck and I freed it up. (???) Good luck!
these buggers are on heat!!
Thanks for posting this! It's great to see legit parts and component identities
What a nightmare design. 🙈
