Joan said “February 12th, this coming Wednesday” he’d be dying on St. Elsewhere. He didn’t actually die on screen, but February 12, 1986 was his last episode. And the final clip mentions 1986’s The Deliberate Stranger debuting soon, so this was almost four years after Flamingo Road.
