Just saw the concert at Beacon Theatre,.. I don't know if I'm get old for this or there is abundant overuse of whammy /wah and high notes. I was bored to death
My friend . John used to buy Sat/Vai DVDs .And we would all watch them on a Friday night. We were always Blown away by the talent but also how humble you guys are . Keep rockin on
If anybody is gonna take 1 of my most treasured Classics and make into something new that garners just as much love as that original and be Sooooooooooooo different, it's the Satch-Master & Little Stevie Vai.
I think of my dad when I hear this song. He enjoyed coming into my room at night when I was sleeping and scaring me. He did this to me from the age of 4 thru 8 years old. He was teaching me to toughen up and it worked. I am now 68 and consider myself a tough old bird.

Rai Thistlethwayte is the man! Incredible session man, but also terrific musician in his solo career and collaborations. I love when he plays with Louis Cole and Knower
When are they coming to the UK ?? It's great to see these guitar 🎸 gods playing together if you get a chance watch there interview on the monsters of rock cruse
Not sure how so much talent can fit on one stage... It is so great to see such brilliant musicians having just as good a time playing the music as the fans are having listening to the music.
I bet this makes Kirk and James' day when they see it. Especially how Satch actually finishes with the original solo lines. Its a nice nod to Kirk this. It's his riff and arguably his most iconic solo. Some interesting flavours in the jam section as well .
@@HAL900032 Yes you are correct...but Steve Vai also would take guitar lessons from Joe Satriani when he was young. Steve Vai considers Joe as his Mentor. So my comment is accurate. Unless I am miss interpreting your comment.
Steve Vai is also a master and has taken lessons from far more than just Satch. Sometimes the student builds on what the master does and sometimes improves upon it. In fact that is more than often the case. Just because Joe was Steves teacher for a short time decades ago does not mean he is still the better guitar player.@@slavetometal8529

Indeed.
Enter satchman awesome!
🤣
LOL...good one!
Kenny Aronoff - Still one of the hardest hitters on the drums at 71, amazing stuff.
Damn didn't know he was that old, what excuse does Lars have then for losing his chops even though he's more then a decade younger then Kenny

I think he played on destination anywhere album with bonjovi🤔
Saw him with Satch last year, stole the show.
wtf 71??? just wow! Long live Legend❤
The singer is also the keyboard player for joe, he also plays guitar. He was genuinely such an amazing musician seeing him live
Achei fraco de voz, faltou algo mais visceral.
Yeah he's really talented!
What's his name?
@@ARIEL.LIGHTNING: If they wanted to keep it “in house” it must mean that he was the best vocalist among all the band members. 🤷🏻♂️

Just happy to see and listen to the two great guitarists of all time play one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever.
❌️ the student plays the teacher's song
✅️ the teacher plays the student's song

Joe also taught Mr Vai I do believe as well as Kirk.

Thanks for posting this video!
Legend has it Lars was in the crowd with a scouting agent pass.
Excellent job Joe/Steve! ❤
Probably a lawsuit
They definitely captured the feeling and added some extra flair.

@bossedo I worry about that with the wife going. She's not into the noises although she loves guitars.
Thanks for passing that on.
LOL!!! Two masters entertaining the audience and themselves, all having FUN.
AMAZING bit of history recorded here. THANKS SO MUCH for posting this!
Is it just me or these guys never get old ? Literally.

That was so incredibly interesting for so many different reasons. Most of all I love seeing the teacher play the students song
That is amazing! Also Satriani honoring his former student. What an amazing thing! Love these guys!!!
They were having so much fun!

I'm sorry to hear that he did that to you.
My dad did the same to me. I told him he was a turd.
@m.charron not necessarily a bad thing. People are too soft nowadays. Yeah abuse is wrong, but nothing wrong with toughening a kid up for survival

Satch and Vai always deliver! Amazing seeing these two just improv back and forth.
What a combination: Teacher and Student. Perfect 👍 🌄👍👍
The True Master Joe & Vai
So much fun. What an absolute treasure to see two masters jamming like old friends. Love it!
Kind of reminds me when Salieri was shown up by Mozart in the movie Amadeus. When he played the welcoming piece on the harpsichord.
With the amount of Wah we got Hammet will be proud...
Lmao .. right on😂😂
Ah must suck to be envious Hey?
You know joe taught krik right?
Yeah, ruined that bit
Hammet's head exploded lol

Just amazing
This is like a warm-up to them
Pre-warm-up*
True
The vast majority of music they play is a warmup for them. It’s only the lead that’s hard.
Oh man! I got front row seats at The Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne, can’t wait!!
Good drummer 🥁
These two are simply the masters playing the student's little tunes for fun!
Wow, wish I had been there.
Mesmerizing! Loved it!!
Fantastic !!! Freakin good stuff !

Absolutely Amazing 🎸🎸
Love how it screams~! top tier
Saw this show in Durham and will be in Charlotte tomorrow night. Easily one of the best shows ever.
Many people may not know this but satriani also trained kirk hammet too. So Satch had a great career as a mentor.
Alex Skolnichk Too
Every Metallica fan knows, every Satriani fan knows. So pretty much everybody watching this video knows.

They're going to.
The first single is already out - it’s on its way
They made so many albums of their own. What more do you want? haha

the real student here was Kirk Hammet who would take guitar lessons from Satriani when he was younger.
