Aberdare C70 Road Cycling Race (Part 1) The Battle Of Titans

- Stunning landscape and the assembly of some of the strongest cyclists in Kenya. Murang’a county set the stage for the most beautiful and painful road cycling race of the year, an epic cycling race, and an all round route with all forms of climbs, curves and descents. Racers competed to climb 1800m of elevation over an 85km distance. Cyclists from various walks of life and many parts of the country graced the event.
At the front of the race, the leaders gave an unforgettable show; it has been a while since they have raced against each other and there are some new entrants in the racing scene so they test each other a lot. It's not enough to be strong, you have to make calculations and move chess pieces.
All across the race, so much happened that I tried to capture as I gave support to cyclists and the race.
Watch this video to see how the race took place, follow as the strategies unfold, witness raw determination, cyclists fighting spirit and learn some race strategies with the hope that your cycling will improve as you follow the battle of the champions.

This is my where I come from, how they are able to take those corners with those speeds without landing at Maragwa river remains a question to me.

It's way past my bedtime but this is totally worth it. Whatever these guys smoke to descend like that and flatten hills like pancakes, I want some of it. Then again, maybe not. I have seen KR training in Iten and it is brutal. We see the glory but only these cyclists know the time and effort it takes to ride like this. Kudos to them and thanks for taking the time to capture them in action. Cheers!

I wonder why Bobby, Don, Frank, Kagiri and may be one more strong rider couldn't team up and work for one of them to break the Kenya Riders dominance. Strategy is so important at this level. Nice coverage.

WOW! This has been epic as promised! Pato is such a fighter. I was so glad to see him catch up to the front group and fighting to stay there. I loved Sam's confidence in his legs, that 50KM commute is paying off big time. Nancy is such a strong rider. Seeing her keeping up and dropping male riders is amazing. Langat weaving around those corners at such speeds with confidence is breath taking! Thank you for the great race coverage Moses, waiting for part 2.

O.K. that descending by Langat is a pleasure to watch but hairy scary! Was there a car to clear the roads ahead just incase an innocent motobike aka nduthi comes on the road? Wah! wah! wah!
It's true Andrew, that was the risk. Peter was sometimes ahead on a motorbike, you'll hear him honking or if you see a motorbike ahead in the video, it's him. I put a motorbike in the race too for support and footage and I shadowed him a lot from the back.
@@MosesAmira Funny, but I have seen an exact same clip of Langat descending somewhere in Iten, almost a carbon copy of that. Clearly it is well rehearsed. Practice made perfect!
