It is considered standard and is the version found in the dictionary. The extra "i" in Jordan's mischievious was added informally in order to sound similar to other words in English. It is the nonstandard spelling and pronunciation and is not found in the dictionary. An online poll, however, found voters split down the middle, with slightly over half believing the nonstandard spelling and pronunciation was the correct one.

It really depends on where you are...."a"s are way different in the south than the north. Same word same spelling...
