_SO_ many thoughts go through my head as I watch street scenes like these, with so many unbelievably expensive cars driving around.... The staggering wealth of such a higher percentage of people than in the recent past. It really boggles my mind. But on the fun side, as a 'car guy' I really enjoy seeing so many interesting cars passing by. Whether I like, love or dislike some of the designs, they're never boring. A trivia tidbit for people who many not know, in the U.K. *'number plates', or licence plates* as we call them in North America, are a big thing. In their system, you can buy them outright and the number and combinations of letters and numerals makes a HUGE difference as to what they cost. When there are only three or four letters/numerals, the cost can actually be over 100,000 pounds. Yes, *the number plates on some of those cars in the videos likely cost the owners a third or half of what their actual car cost them.* A huge difference from here in Canada, where you might only pay $100. for a personalized plate, and maybe $50. more per year (ongoing) for the privilege😀.
🏁Not really. There is a lot of tech sharing, but much of these elements are made more bespoke for Rolls Royces.RR engines are developed from BMW ones but are not "the same." RR is a subsidiary of BMW and develops its own architecture and suspension. The majority of a Rolls Royce is not from BMW. That is of course not to say that BMW as the parent company does not have a great deal to say in the operations of Rolls Royce.
