Thanks Mike, the subtle clarity effect was a new discovery for me and was a great help today. The difference it made was terrific, yet subtle! :) Appreciate your vids as there's always something new to learn
Thanks Mike, I am an absolute newbie to audio mastering and I am so glad I have found your tutorials - they are really very helpful and well done! Just one question regarding loudness: We want to upload our podcasts to various platforms, so is there like one standard setting which should fit all platforms or will I have to export my mix various times, each time adjusted to the loudness settings of the respective platform?
Thank you for the kind words! To ensure your podcasts sound consistent across all platforms, aim for a LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) level of around -16 LUFS, which is the standard for most platforms. You can use various applications or plugins to measure and adjust your podcast's loudness level accordingly before exporting.
I am glad I ran across your channel. A bit late, yet so timely. Just ordered an interface for a podcast I have wanted to get off the ground for so long. I have access to Audition so thank you for the tutorials.
Hey Mike, as usual your video is helpful for both aspiring and experience editor. Please clarify when client said mastering their podcast sound what is it expected from editor to do? What it really means?
Podcast mastering typically involves finalising the audio mix by balancing levels, equalising frequencies, compressing dynamics, and adding effects to give the overall sound consistency and quality.
In Libsyn, you can typically adjust loudness during the upload or publishing process. Aim for around -16 LUFS for stereo audio. I do this in Audition after mixdown in the Match Loudness window.
I am getting confused. My version of audition does not have the same menu items as yours. I try to follow along and edit mine, but I can't. Also, how do I insert the music (intro and Outro) you already have loaded? When I attempt to record on multitrack, no sound records. I can go to Waveform and record things. I am looking for the absolute bare-bones beginner tutorial. Does one exist?
@Mike Russell : I can’t believe it. I use Subtle Clarity when I’m mastering my songs. I don’t need to use Multitrack. That’s an awesome preset. (Up there with MRC Presets.)

Greetings, how did you get the "MIX TRACK" on sec 0:57??
The mix track may also be labelled as master track. It will be the last track on any multitrack session

Hi - I use Libsyn which publishes to Apple, Spotify, and a number of platforms. How do I set loudness?

I recommend checking out some of my beginner Audition videos for more help.
Do you have a video showing how to set up a workspace for podcasting and how to open up audio for the podcast template?
Yes, I have a tutorial covering podcast workspace setup and opening audio templates using Adobe Audition in my channel. Check this:
