Yup, the creatures and enemies are part of a living world. Or dead if they are spirits, skeletons or zombies. But there is a reason they are somewhere and how they act. Okay zombies and skeletons are a bit more foddery. But an intelligent race acts different then an brainless enemy template. Don't get me wrong though skeletons skill can kick your ass. If there is someone around CONTROLLING them..ouch. On their own brainless they already are pretty bad news. But once someone actually controls them. Actually sends most of them to the more vurnable members. A kobold can run yes, and in their ways should run if they fear they are losing. Unless you find the last defense that is there to make sure the other kobolds find the time to take the eggs to a safe place. The last defense stands till death! A wild animals thinks different then an intelligent species. Don't get me wrong not saying animals are stupid but they act more on instinct then a planning race. An Owl Bear will fight you to get you away from their terrain, their eggs. And yes an enraged young dragon is going to stick around longer then a smart dragon who knows that these small mortals are not worth his/her time. Get into the mind of the enemy and every encounter will be more interesting then saying "You see four Goblins"
