Are you really watching more golf though? There’s the same amount of players, just spread between two leagues. Same amount of players = same amount of golf being played
You got to ask yourself if the money was right, is there anywhere you wouldn't play? Would you have played in apartheid South Africa sponsored by the government for example? What if Vladimir Putin had a tournament, would you legitimize his regime by playing there and cashing in millions of dollars? The real question is about decency - are you a moral person or not? Should golfers be held to higher ethical standards than footballers or F1 drivers? My answer is a resounding YES!!! The founding fathers of golf were all gentlemen who played with great honour and a sense of responsibility because they were role models for society. Think of Jack and Arnold who established the PGA. It’s not all about money you know it’s also about history and legacy and being decent citizens of the world.

No ads since it is funded by Saudi money that has nothing to do with a financial balance sheet. If I watched golf like I used to a couple decades ago I would record the events and skip the woke ads.

@@YoYoZamolo I am not sure what you are on about. LIV tried to punt the television rights to everyone and his dog. There were no takers and so they aired it on their own website and UA-cam.
Gotta say as a big fan of the pga tour, this was pure joy to watch. Commentary, coverage, everything was nice honestly. Loving the team format. This might do better than expected and I’m excited for that tbh.

This is entertaining but watching some of the players squirm under media questions about integrity and money have been my highlight 🤣🤣🤣
They won't give a shit at the end of the day. I imagine it would be hard to turn down 100m bucks no matter what your morals are and besides a lot of these guys played on the US tour when America has bombed civilians and still imprisons and torturers people without due process. Love it, This gives some new life to an old game with this format. I think this will turn out to be better than expected. Small field and everybody gets paid. Players may be on the outside looking in wishing they made a different choice. Time will tell.

Fast efficient fresh a great variety of golf pros a few I’ve never heard of,no cut means free flowing excitement for fearless golf.. shot gun start means no excuses,teams events brilliant idea, commentary all fair and square so refreshing not having to hear what college’s American golfers attended while watching golf ⛳️ let’s not forget Greg Norman’s a better businessman then he was a golf pro it’s in safe hands build it they will come… 💰😎👍

I gotta be honest here - this kinda has a golf meets F1 feel here...~4-5 hour discrete time window for all players and TV viewers, team aspect, worldwide tournaments, wealthy financial backers, European announcers, big prize money. Some have said this format is no good for betting - I disagree - I think with the team aspect added and more happening at the same time betting will be better. With the guaranteed money the Saudi's have committed and will seemingly keep doing so they will get a critical mass of top guys probably for year 2 once it is confirmed that all 4 majors allow LIV players in. PGA is in BIG trouble in my estimation...Dechambeau is also already gone and likely Fowler. They just need 3-4 more top 15-20 guys and this thing is an existential threat to the PGA tour...

The broadcast was well put together but they couldn’t stop talking about the money. It’s clear why everyone was there. For some like the amateurs it’s a great opportunity. But for so many top PGA players to jump ship so quickly is disheartening .. who knows, maybe the pga will really start making some changes now but right now it’s really sad to see

as someone who doesn’t play golf, I would still watch it casually with my pops and enjoy myself. this new concept of team play is kinda cool and the pace of play is awesome. hopefully in the future we see some fans wearing merch from their favorite team 👍

Took me a second to understand the scoring on the left but once I had it its great. Everything feels a lot more fluid. No ridiculously repetitive ad breaks. Condensed to a manageable time frame. Good highlights package, compared to the appalling efforts scraped together by the PGA Tour.
Overall a really promising start.

Finally there's competition for the PGA Tour! These are professional golfers that play for money, I can't blame them for maximizing their earning potential. Let's not forget that professional golfers were maligned completely a hundred years ago, Bobby Jones was a hero to many because he remained an amateur. The PGA will suffer greatly from their holier than thou stance to LIV Golf when all they had to do was grant exemptions for 8 weeks a year.
The good golfers will always play on pga. Liv golf has 1 or 2 half decent players
8 weeks a year and then they will grow it, think they will keep it at 8 if they had all the PGA Players 😂

Very good set up! Shotgun start with the team aspect is great for completion within the competition. This stands up to the RBC this week even better with the commentary and showing all the action

LIV Golf is definitely more exciting than PGA Tour. Everything happening in real time , all at the same time. No weather advantage or disadvantage for any player. Really good format.

Shotgun start is a great idea because everyone plays at the same time and plays the same conditions
Very true but you can only do that with a small field. Assuming threesomes, the field couldn’t be larger than 54 players. Wouldn’t work on PGA Tour. I do like it though, very fair.
