Good to be reminded of the points you make about tremelo technique. I'd just like to say for all you performing and recording artists out there, that there's a great quote from Beethoven that I keep in the back of my mind whenever I play in front of an audience (who cares about in the studio anyway these days, where everything can be comped or edited in the repair shop as it were). Anyway, Beethoven once said, (and I quote from DK's The Classical Music Book) "To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable." Even Segovia made a few mistakes here and there if you listen closely. But who cares. The passion was always there. Thank you for your inspiring videos. They mean a hell of a lot these days. Muchas gracias.
Thank you that is most reassuring as I do get hung up over my mistakes.
yes, quite welcome - can't argue with Ludwig!
Ricky Molina muito bem falado, Ricky
@@franciscoaragao5398 Obrigado.

That piece in the middle sounded so unhorrible ♥️
Ho...là, là ! !
Very interesting...but, you have to be able to follow Alexandra's verbal flow (...! ). And, even with the Google translator, difficult to follow.
Fortunately...there are the images of the video! But, well, it's really nice. I promise I will learn English ( or American ) at lightning speed...
the speed of lightning...like Alexandra's flow (...). translation = DEEPL.

Oi Alexandra!
These tips have been very helpful and affirmed some of my own mistakes and questions
Alexandra, it'll be great to see a different side of you and therefore get to know you a little better!
Bella mujer.
You may have enlightened me as to how you achieve such a clear, rich tone by what you said (and showed) you do with the fingers on your left hand: press firmly on the strings with tip or end of your fingers. I imagine you have callouses on the tips of your fingers on your left hand which also contribute to the amazing tone you achieve.
I could listen to you talk and watch you laugh all day. Quite charming.
Thank you Alexandra, nice to see you doing this for us! A tremolo practice that I was shown many years ago by someone at the Stuttgart conservatory is to play the tremolo in a pattern of 4 triplets, starting with the thumb on the fretted D, 10th fret, 6th string, and i m a on the open D string. So the pattern goes: Pim/Api/Map/Ima. Then you can shift to the next pair of unison notes: G on the 5th string and open G, repeating the pattern across the strings and back. This can help to even the spacing and the emphasis of each note. It may sound complicated to some who are newer to guitar, but when tried it turns out relatively simple ;-)
Muy bonita y Limpia la Señorita Alexandra Whittingham
Good stuff but why the hugely irritating background noodling?
Hi Alexandra can you tetch me play gitar online
Iam Amro from Egypt i have a gitar from 15years but i can't play
I'm wondering, you seem to be a really creative person...
How come I've never heard any song by you... not your interpretation, but truly your song?
Is there such miracles around?
Also, I'm certain you don't do that "siccas" (should be sisters, right?) video editing... cause those horns are really so unnecessary...
And many effects remind me of that weird bass player... I don't understand why not more people cannot be humble and beautifully enchantingly honest about their art..
like you are... Your true spirit shines through all that crap Alexandra :)
Do the right thing you not waste start learn from note if you can play by note .You can play every song even though you've heard before. It's hard at begining but it worth long lasting.Note never lie. Try
This practice (as others) helps fix the brain to the fingers so what you hear is eventually played without as much 'thought'.
Amazing, because in places the pattern is simple but it's the dedication to the art that makes it stick.
Hey! Is your classical guitar 3/4 size? Lovely video :)
Hey, Alexandra!!! 😘
Saturday is going to be great.
In 10 , 20 years from now when I watch this video I tell myself why does she speak so slowly :)
what leg rest are you using in this video? I was wondering how you position the guitar at that angle. cheers
It is easy if you are playing the tremolo on the string E but try it on other strings :-o You fingers are hitting the strigs next to it. It is harder very much. Alexandra, could you help us to show us some advanced technics for tremolo?
Taso Comanescu recommends moving your tremolo to the b-string so that you have to be super tight with it, doing this very slowly has helped my practice if that helps at all :-)
Hy Alexandra! I thinck that all your explications are very intéresting. You’r à so beautifull looking girl, but you speak à lettle beat too fast for me.
You are Fantastic...LOVE
Nice! But where is part 1 and part 3?
J'attends avec impatience!
Really love this content, thank you so much for these useful tips!
GOOD,SO GOOD,
WHAT KIND,OF CLASSICAL STRINGS
DO YOU,PREFER??
Clear and interesting, like Part 1. For 4th finger trill/hammer on : snap off (etc) I find aiming the finger about 2-3 mm behind the fret rather than close to the fret is normally more successful. Also, as Alexandra said, touching with the tip of the finger not pad gives better sound. But it is always harder than it looks.
Love you so much😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
thanks you give me an idea how you do it
If I may add a comment about tremolo - I've noticed over the years that personally, I play Recuerdos or Study in A minor by Carcassi e.g. much better when my nails are shorter (about 1mm or so showing above the flesh). I find that overgrown nails may be ok for most classical guitar pieces but not for tremolo pieces such as these. I have absolutely no idea how Jason Vieaux can play Recuerdos with those monstrous nails of his! Not to mention how long nails can affect the emotion of the song. Joe Pass once said that he preferred fingerpicking to plectrums because the guitar is that much closer to the heart. I would agree. By the way, my fav renditions of Recuerdos are played by Fernando Espi and John Williams, because of the human feel. Such a mesmerizing piece. When practicing it I sometimes fall into a slight trance. Have to wake myself up to sometimes to finish the piece. :)
Nice tremelo technique.
You have a such powerfull voice
Que mujer tan linda.
This is the most beautiful guitar lesson ever.
😍

Great Alexandra
Thank u tooo much
You are awesome
I have trouble keeping my focus.....
well uh noo... I mean.. yea she speaks too fast.. yeah.. yeah..
Que bella dama!
Just finished watching your concert on Siccas channel. Masterful!
Any tips for keeping your left hand strong? I have trouble with mine.
sakura-sakura !!
Thanks 😊
Lovely!
Scarlatti almost 'has' to employ right hand, cross string trills and ornaments. Other baroque composers (say Bach, Weiss, Rameau etc) don't necessarily need them even though they might sound nice, but Scarlatti does that's for sure.
Show off! 😂
Gracias.
Hello Alejandra, I would like to know what you think about the technique that Paco de Lucía had to play the guitar. Thank you
Thanks for including the tremolo part from Sakura, and fir the touch if humor Alexandra.
Sou aqui do Brasil e estou amando te conhecer. Fiz violão erudito, técnica Tárrega. Aprecio muito o que você toca. E és muito linda!
I am from Brasil and I am loving to know you. I study classic guitar, Tárrega technics. I appreciate too much what you play and you are so beatiful!
I find myself in a lot of struggle practicing the fast arpeggios of Ètude n.11 by Villa Lobos.
Got any piece of advice for that?
Thanks
Cool
