I had a similar problem with my K1C. The silicone sock didn't fit snug over the tip, and during a failed PETG print, the filament filled the entire cavity surrounding the hotend inside the sock... what a mess! While I was able to clean it up sufficiently, I purchased a Micro Swiss hotend that I haven't taken the time to install yet.
I ditched 0.4 nozzle a year ago and never returned to it. I have no idea why would anybody want to use 0.4 nozzle when printing the functional parts. 0.4 is only necessary if you print some miniatures.
I think Micro-Swiss will listen.., their Tech Support for me has been fantastic! It would be great to get the HeatSync with their kits. So glad I’m a Patreon Supporter!
Thank you! This was such a helpful video. Warning: whining ahead: The hot-end this comes with blew out within 4 prints. After trying to get Creality to replace the hotend because it had broken some wires, we gave up and made them replace the whole machine, and the new one had quality control issues - the ceramic coating on the hotend was thin and broken! That was okay though, we'd already decided to replace it because of the poor original design, and your instructions made it very easy for me to do. With a good hotend, this is an excellent machine, getting great prints out of it.
How can I get a K1C Heatsink from Creality (or anyone)? My brand new K1 Max is down and it came shipped with K1C Hot End, as I believe all are now. They do not show the heatsink as a replacement part available. THANKS for the Video! I would have NOT known about the "switcheroo" done by Creality on my K1 MAX hot end, if it weren't for finding this video and watching it. Now I just need to get a heatsink and I can get the Micro Swiss K1C Hot end and get back to using this GREAT printer.
I am confused as to why we need the micro-swiss. I could see if we messed up the original, but is if my printer is printing just fine with the original why spend the extra on the micro-swiss. Also, I have a .4, .6, and .8 nozzle that fits the stock unit - they're on Ali Express. what would have been nice is for you to have done the print in .4 and then again in .6 and show us a comparison. I get it that a larger line will print faster, but my main question is if I'd be happy or even notice the quality difference.
I have the K1C and just bought the MicroSwiss FlowTech HotEnd and MicroSwiss 0.4/0.6mm nozzles because of this video. Thank you! Any suggestions to upgrade the extruders for the K1C?
Thanks for making this video. My installation didn't go together like some of yours but I can adapt and survive. What was most notable is that my K1 has this hot end style so it was a small change and a couple of extra unplanned parts. Thank you for having this available for extra guidance.
Chuck are you not using the rubber sock on your hot end? I hate the way they tear off anytime you need to remove them so if it's safe to do so I'd rather omit it altogether.
@@FilamentFriday my Ender 2 Pro would only heat the nozzle to 190C then throw the thermal runaway error when I forgot to put the sock back on, so you might need it for the lowest power of hotends
Good to know, thanks Chuck. I know that I would sometimes get thermal runaway issues on my Ender 3 Max if I left the sock off, so good to know that you have not experienced any such issues with your K1C. @@FilamentFriday
Maybe after Taxes I'll be able to find resources to pick up a flowtech hotend for my K1 and perhaps then be able to re-commission it. Replacing the extruder drive set didn't fix the extrusion problems though, so I'm not putting this on the front burner for a while.
Cool to see vids on the k1c. I was up in the air between this and the qidi q1 and opted for the q1. Have any experience with qidi? Seems like it’s got a heavy feature set for the price
But how does the print with 0.6 nozzle look "pretty good" if there is obvious underextrusion? From my experience with K1C and 0.6 nozzle, it looks like the extruder motor is a weak link.
@@FilamentFriday I would be grateful if you'll make a comparison 0.4 Arachne vs 0.6 Arachne: time, quality, filament usage. I tried 0.6 for a couple of days. Calibrated everything, but returned to 0.4, as there were no speed gains, but was obvious quality degradation on utility prints - composite models, models with threads, watertight models, models that are parts of mechanical devices, etc.
I have a ender 3v2 with a bl touch i just printed cheps dial indicator holder to better level the bed is there a gcode to where the print head will travel to each point of the bed so I don’t have to do it manually anymore?
Do you still use Cura at all? If so, will you be making any profiles for the K1 for the new Cura versions? I have been using Cura since I got my CR6SE and now we have a K1 at the office, but I'm really struggling to setup profiles in Cura for it and I don't like their Creality slicer they use. We using the stock 0.4mm nozzle, basically all 100% stock.
@@FilamentFriday No idea how I missed this one! Thanks again. I still find it5 very odd that Cura still don't have any K1 printer profiles in their softwares yet... I did try Orca, but just so used to Cura now. But I'll give it another look. Thanks again.

Hey. The exact same thing happened to me on my Creality K1C. Do you have instructions on how to take the heat sink off? I ordered and recieved the Microswiss Hotend. Like yours. I cant get the heating nozzle off the heat sink and I am thinking if I take the heat sink off it may make my life easier taking the nozzle off. Any help would be much appreciated.
Wondering if these have thread lockers like loctite? If you have a heat gun or torch, you could probably heat to around 350ish as the other user suggested. If not, then a blow dryer may help as well.
I had the same problem with the blob, three days after getting my K1C. This is my first 3D printing experience and I would rather be printing something than taking the printer apart. I finally got the new hot end from China after nearly 3 weeks. But I have also been unable to unscrew the nozzle from the heat sink, so I have requested a new heat sink from Creality. Probably another 3 week wait. I think I might order this hotend from micro swiss just to have on hand. I just hope that I will be able to put everything back together again! Thank you for this video, I'm sure it will help me when I get all the parts!

Unless you kept it paused right when the clog started there's no restarts.
Can you share the profile.
I'm triggered by that profile name -- it needs a space between "K1C" and the open parenthesis. Please send me your thoughts and prayers. 😄
I already had that so it was giving me an already exists error so I left out the space for the video version.

On a K1C?

No, use it as is for a while. I do suggest a textured PEI build plate.
