I have been making my dogs food for over 10 years :) She loves it and is so healthy as well! I think it's the highest quality and best way to feed your dog. Good Job!!
You are such a wonderful wife and mom cooking all these amazing meals for your family. I love how you take the time to custom make each person's favorite way of eating everything whether it is no cheese or extra of something. I also really enjoy watching you make Murphy's food! So interesting! Thank you for sharing.
My son learned how to make omelettes in school recently. He's been super excited to make everyone omelettes lately & it's so nice watching my boy cooking & enjoying himself.
I just fell over.. laughing!!! At the exact same time you were thinking how many comments you were going to get about using Vodka, I thought OUTLOUD “Does she realize how many comments she’s going to get…”. You are so funny!! But very correct, too!! ….but no comments from me!😂 ♥️
I can’t express how much I love watching your videos. I let your videos go for a while and then binge watch you. I love cooking and will give the fish and chips a try!
I am trying to decide what to get an instant pot or an air fryer. Decided on the air fryer but was told to get a good brand. Makes a difference. What do you suggest ??
I have one called Ultrean and I am quite happy with it. I had a smaller one but opted for the larger one. So glad I did. I also have seen Corsori used by quite a few of the ladies I follow, like Frugal Fit Mom and Jen of course!
Thank you for your advise. I look and so many different kinds. I will look for what you suggest. Also one big basket is probably better than 2 small ones 🧐
I got the ninja with two baskets. I love it because you don’t need to dirty up a giant basket for something small. You can also turn it onto one big one because you can match the temperature and time on both so they cook the same. But you can set one and have the other one set for a different time so both baskets will be done at the same time
My brother cooks for his dogs every week. He makes a sort of meat loaf for them using lamb. It’s from the book Dr. Pitcairn’s Dog book. Dr. Pitcairn is a vet who believes in a lot more natural health care for pets than most vets believe in.
I made fog good when one of our dogs became diabetic. It was not fun at first figuring everything out fir her weight but we hit it and she lived 6 years after diagnosis. She died of a broken heart after my husband passed. He was her human. I definitely will be trying the fish batter. Looks so yummy. The years of kids activities are definitely busy ones but they go by so fast. Everything else can take a back seat to those! Thanks for sharing.
You definitely helped me get my day rolling. I created today’s “To Do” list and checked a few things off while listening to your video! Happy Friday! Hope you all have a great & productive weekend! Trying to get stuff done today, because like many of you I have “kid stuff” all day tomorrow.
Great video Jen. I just tried Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken and that was great. It is a great family friendly budget dinner with rice and a vegetable or salad for under $10. You should do a video on that. I cooked my Chicken in the oven at 400 degrees for 18 minutes and microwaved the sauce and poured it over the chicken. This is so good, I will be making this again. Thanks Jen.
Hey Jenn…. I’m wondering if you still have your indoor garden and if so, maybe you could do an update on how you like it( sorry if you mentioned on a previous video and I missed it)
Lucky Murphy! I 'cook' food for my dogs as an accompaniment to their dry kibble. I try not to overcook the meat and leave it partially raw (beef, chicken, organ meat) along with chopped veggies. Not overcooking preserves more nutrients. They also love eggs. Some people freak out about the meat being partially raw, but I've never had a problem. The other addition they love is apple cider vinegar (Braggs) a teaspoon mixed in with their meal and they lick the bowl clean - plus it's good for them. I think adding the ACV (if they were out in the wild) mimics the environment of the stomach contents of their kill. Don't mean to be so graphic! :-)
I always make my dogs food and I do it in the instant pot. I use ground beef, turkey or chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, green beans, fish oil and vitamins. My vet says she is very healthy so I guess I am doing something right.
You're such a great mom.... you take such great care of your family including the very adorable Murphy. Do you store your homemade dog food in the fridge or freezer? How long does it last in the fridge?
Yum! Your Fish&Chips looked amazing, and yes to Lawry's Seasoned Salt. So good! I too make homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw. I'm not a fan of pre-made coleslaw, it's never as good as fresh.
Lucky Lad Murphy! I’ve only cooked for my Boys on rare occasion they have upset stomach & Vet says 24 hours no food…then boiled rice & boiled chicken breasts for 5 days. Slowly incorporating regular food slowly starting day 3. I have 2 Irish Wolfhounds, Matty Boy 130 lbs. & Young Marcus 170lbs. So, imagine how many (I don’t have instapot, I have Breville fast-slow pro) crocks I’d need going for them ;)
I like to do meal prep Mondays...but the way my paydays work doesn't always allow for that. This week payday was Wednesday, and I did grocery shopping that day. I bought 6 lbs of ground beef on discount, so I had to deal with that the next day. Thursday I have lunch with my elderly mother and do any cleaning she needs. And this Thursday was also parent teacher interviews. I had a little over an hour between the 2 things to deal with the ground beef. Not how I'd have planned, but I got 'er done. I had half the beef cooking while I made the other half into meatloaves. I managed to get it all in the freezer and throw on a clean shirt and some make up before I left. Luckily my teen has church youth group thursdays, and the kids eat together before whatever the week's activity so I didn't have to worry about dinner for her. I'm disabled, and between vacuuming for my mom, being on my feet cooking, and walking all over the school, including stairs, to see 4 different teachers...I was in a lot of pain.
You said that you have a nutritional vet for Murphy. Do they do consultations online? If not, is there a book that you would recommend? We live in Central Iowa and have three dogs (a 6 lb. pomeranian, 24 lb Schnoodle/dachshund mix, and 74 lb lab/retriever mix... all rescues). The first two dogs have food allergies and it's hard to find a dry dog food that works. Thank you for your help and awesome videos.
What are those Dixie brand large square paper plates that you put the chicken on for the quesadillas? Looks like a food prep disposable plate. I would love those! Enjoy everything you do!
Hey Jen! Great video!! I’ve made food for my dog as well… enjoy doing it and the we know what our animals are getting. Just a thought, use a high quality oil instead of safflower oil. Safflower oil is a highly Inflammatory, gmo oil. Not good for us or our animals. Just a thought.
I make chicken and rice for my dog (not as her whole diet just to supplement) but I never thought of adding sweet potato and pumpkin, I'll give it a try!
Grew up in Northern California and have been living in Portland, Oregon for over a decade: don’t know what else to call kitchen towels that are flat-woven that tea towels.
I cook for my birds lol. Most isn't cooking but grinding up vegetables. There are bird cookbooks or great resources on youtube. Some cooking but minimal and I freeze most.
Maybe it's a US thing cause here in south west PA it's a tea towel as well. I cooked for my dog after we got him from the rescue. I stopped since I cooked too much & found he wouldn't eat what I had frozen. He's a chihuahua pekingese mix so it hard to a weeks worth at a time
Hi Jen. I always enjoy your videos. Your fish dinner looked so good. I have tried the KFC recipe and it is close to their coleslaw. Thanks for sharing your weekend with us. Take Care.
I cooked dog food for our family dog growing up, she was a teacup yorkie so 1 batched lasted forever in the freezer. It was a chicken vegetable and rice mixture then she developed a poultry allergy, go figure.
I cook my dogs food too. I think you need to be about as accurate on the vitamin/minerals ect with your pet as with your kids. You want to be sure they are getting a healthy well rounded diet, but dont kill your budget trying to be precise because a vet said so. Doctors would say so too if they thought people would listen and not get pissed because they said their kids MUST have kale, leeks, and pumpkin 3 times a week. Remember, dogs live with us because they can eat pretty much anything we can except onions and garlic. Dogs used to live longer too before dry food was made their 'staple' food.
Really enjoyed watching you make Murphy’s food. Very interesting. Eating potatoes and Brussel Sprouts must make Murphy poop like crazy! And a ninety pound dog has big poops! Happy Spring clean-up. Lol. 🌺
Yes. They are "tee towels"! The only time I've ever cook for my dogs is when they've been ill and I had to make them rice and hamburger but I've actually been thinking about doing that especially for one of my older girls Belle. Of course I would have to make extra to give the other two a little trial sample of it because heaven forbid one child got something that the other children didn't get. I'm sure as a mom you can understand that. Murphy is so dang adorable! I just want to squeeze him!
I have been making my dogs food for over 10 years :) She loves it and is so healthy as well! I think it's the highest quality and best way to feed your dog. Good Job!!

I'm definitely gonna try them. I need new glasses bad. Btw they all amazing on you. You look great period!
Thank goodness! After a terribly crappy day I needed a good video. Thanks!
Hi; SANDY here. D-I-T-T-O MARIE!!!! Thanks Jen see ya on the next one…. -SANDY-
Where did you get your floral glass measuring cup? Your food always looks yummy!
I get so excited when I see a Jen video in my inbox. It was great, as usual.
Good for you for making the raw diet for your pup! I do That with ours. It’s the best way to go.
Great video! The fish and chips dinner looks absolutely delicious!
Love the glasses...they all look good on you!!! That breakfast......YUMMERS!!! What a great dog mom you are......Murphy is lucky!!!
Yesssss a new Jen video before bed.
Hey Jenn…. I’m wondering if you still have your indoor garden and if so, maybe you could do an update on how you like it( sorry if you mentioned on a previous video and I missed it)

The first and third pair of glasses looked so great on you! Super pretty
We use the KFC coleslaw recipe too & it is delicious!
I like the red ones best.
Tea towel is a British term for kitchen towels. My parents were from Scotland and that's what they called them.

We call those Tea Towels in Australia as well!
I use season salt instead of regular salt. I love season salt.
Everybody needs a not so productive weekend 😀

Yes- I use Fuzzy: yourfuzzy.com/Jen
@@Jen-Chapin thank you for this information.
Great video. I really enjoy seeing and learning how you’re making Murphy’s food. Silly question, do you warm it up when you feed him?
Nope :)
What are those Dixie brand large square paper plates that you put the chicken on for the quesadillas? Looks like a food prep disposable plate. I would love those! Enjoy everything you do!
Oh yeah they are disposable cutting boards! You can get them at Walmart
Enjoying your videos and especially the food for fur baby. Where do you purchase the venison?
I got it from a local meat market. It is hard to find!
Thanks Jen! 🥸

Pumpkin purée (not for pies) is great for dogs when they are suffering from a bad tummy
Hi Jen you make cooking look so effortless. Could you give more info on recipes for dog food and where you buy the supplements for the food. Thank you
Hi! It’s from the site Just Food for Dogs, their DIY kits.
Folks think vodka in the fish batter is bad...🤣 JUST WAIT! I can piss you off more! 🤣🤣🤣
Love watching you videos, we call them teatowels here in Australia
I'm going to try Warby Parker. I see my eye dr next week and will get an updated prescription.
All the meals look delicious!! How nice of you making Murphy food.

Made a turkey meatloaf every week for 8 years for my shih tzu-pug. She's doing well at 17 yrs. 😘

I liked those rounder tortoise glasses on you too. I think they’re different than what you have.
If you have a child in an activity... it is considered a productive week!... 😆 🤣
Enjoy while you can. It goes by so fast! I blinked and my kids were grown.
I mean true!
@@erinj9642 Yes!!! It seems like it was just yesterday... they were new born!

Happy Thursday, Jen! Do you keep the recipe cards from your meal kits so you can re-create it later? I've done that a few times with Hello Fresh
Hey Treena. Hope you're doing well.
Yes if we really like the meal I do keep them!
LAWRY'S ALL THE WAY!! ✊✊✊
If this is unproductive there are no words for me 😂
Grandma and mom called them tea towels so I call them that! Maybe it's a midwestern thing 🤷♀️
