Well, her father, stepmother and boyfriend are all Brazilians and they all speak Portuguese 24/7 in their home in the states when they're not spending time in Brazil (which they regularly have been doing yearly since she was born, she basically grew up in Brazil and US) so her accent is probably not 100% fake

Actually, it's really difficult after about age 12 to lose your accent, including when speaking foreign languages. Not impossible, but there's a reason that a lot of adult language learners struggle with pronunciation. By about 3 years of age, if you weren't exposed to certain language sounds prior, the brain isn't wired for them. Assuming she grew up bilingual, her accents in each should both be pretty fixed and fluent. There's no legitimate reason she shouldn't be able to form and pronounce English sentences the way she used to. My guess is that it's a more psychological thing, not wanting to seem so American to Brazilians, desperately wanting to fit in, something like that. Super flaky, in my opinion.

An another echample, Immigrants who comes from the middle east to Norway speak with a accent even in 2 and 3th generation.
