Everything would be cleared up in the last season. Maya just gave up on lucas because she may thought that she's not good enough and Riley is the person that makes him happy. But in season 4 they would realize that this is not true and that the only person lucas is thinking about is Maya Hart.
I feel like one of the reasons why Riley let Maya go out with Lucas is because in one episode, they have a mini tiny flashback when Eric says that he and Rachel are still good friends and Jack and her are not (cuz they dated and then broke up) so I think Riley doesn’t want to ever lose Lucas so she doesn’t go out with him, then cannot (obvi) break up with him. May I mentioned that Cory had a failed relationship in ski lodge and Rucas either begin at ski lodge or when people pushed them unlike Lucaya that happened because both wants to (and note that Riley and Lucas acknowledge that the perfect relationship began without pressure from other people which is totally Lucaya) I think if the show hadn't been cancelled they would have made it so all of them realized how incompatible Rucas is and then made Lucaya happened and everyone including Riley would be happy :)
When you realize that in season 1 Farkle ask’s Lucas which one of the girls he was gonna ask out so that he could have the other one. Which means that Lucas also liked maya at the beginning before she *TuRneD inTo riLeY* so then that also means the whole Rucas ship is based off nothing.

I'm just so mad that maya was always the better friend and how the shows name is girl meets world but riley the main character always got what she wanted. A Family and a good boyfriend but none noticed maya and how much she has been through but she still sacrificed her happiness for riley. I just wish maya had gotten more impotence in girl meets world

Everything would be cleared up in the last season. Maya just gave up on lucas because she may thought that she's not good enough and Riley is the person that makes him happy. But in season 4 they would realize that this is not true and that the only person lucas is thinking about is Maya Hart.

I feel like one of the reasons why Riley let Maya go out with Lucas is because in one episode, they have a mini tiny flashback when Eric says that he and Rachel are still good friends and Jack and her are not (cuz they dated and then broke up) so I think Riley doesn’t want to ever lose Lucas so she doesn’t go out with him, then cannot (obvi) break up with him. This is just a little theory. And I definitely ship Lucaya. Rucus was awkward.

also can i just point out how crazy it was when maya immediately always knows something is up with riley but it took riles a whole season and a half to realize maya was “turning into her”.

May I mentioned that Cory had a failed relationship in ski lodge and Rucas either begin at ski lodge or when people pushed them unlike Lucaya that happened because both wants to (and note that Riley and Lucas acknowledge that the perfect relationship began without pressure from other people which is totally Lucaya)
I think if the show hadn't been cancelled they would have made it so all of them realized how incompatible Rucas is and then made Lucaya happened and everyone including Riley would be happy :)

Everyone is talking abt the chemistry and history thing but the fact that he picked sloppy joe just lets me know that Lucaya is just endgame.
When you realize that in season 1 Farkle ask’s Lucas which one of the girls he was gonna ask out so that he could have the other one. Which means that Lucas also liked maya at the beginning before she *TuRneD inTo riLeY* so then that also means the whole Rucas ship is based off nothing.
mj is so much better than rucas. he made Cory and topanga and amazing love story! he can do so much better than rucas which is why they're together in ski lodge (; then he's gonna come and psych out all of the rucas shippers when Lucaya happens :))) not worried at all

I feel Maya is a more complex character, much less childish than Riley for eg, and witty - which makes her FAR more interesting to watch. Not to mention the chemistry between her and Lucas is UNDENIABLE, there is more passion there yet tender love n care. And they communicate honestly and openly when all jokes are aside. Hence they'd have a really great, healthy, functional and REALISTIC relationship.
