My husband of 21 years has a rare form of dementia called Frontotemporo Dementia (FTD). It is a dementia that usually strikes younger people, unlike most Alzheimer's patients. Many times there are still children at home, and you'd never suspect dementia to be a factor, as was the case with us. He's 57 now. Diagnosed at 54, but symptoms occurring long before diagnosis. This song represents the extreme pain and loss I feel. What I beautiful song. For me, this song is about the long goodbye to my best friend.
