Canadian Prepper Dana’ White’s actions after the Till fight does shine “some light” on a bias toward Woodley. I understand where Joe is coming from but you can’t change the way a person feels.
Tyron Woodley is very smart, the best fighters in the world aren't in the UFC, they are people who know that fighting as a sport is not worth the health risks, there are better things to do with your life. It is amazing that the UFC even had a way to become successful, because it means it needs a lot of desperate people who are willing to fight for money. Which is a reflection of how bad we are doing as a species. We so far from being civilized, if people enjoy watching fighting it shows how barbaric we still are as a species. It explains why we still have so much conflict in the world, and why we can't simply live in peace together. In a true advanced civilization there won't be any war and fighting won't exist as a sport, people won't have any desire for such wasteful activities, there will be better things to spend their time on and better opportunities available for everyone. People won't exploit people for money like they do now.
Woodly don’t get the props he deserve.. he has not only beaten, but he has defended the BELT! Against multiple different martial artists styles.. most people see it as boring fights, I see it as adjusting to styles and wining. He's a bitch, the only champion to continusly back away from his competition. He's apparently was a champion and like all his fights did nothing. Fuck Tyron tiny dick Woodley.
I still can't believe how he defeated Wonderboy. Wonderboy got knocked out with a unlikely (not lucky) punch by Pettis. But Woodley not only NOT getting destroyed by that beast, but winning as well, confused me. I think Wonderboy feared something mentally... maybe even being racist, no joke either.
Joe Rogan if you don't realize the what Tyron Woodley is saying is correct, your out of your mind. If you don't understand that if he lost that fight that Dana would never let him make another title run, you are crazy. Dana would let Condit come out of retirement straight into a title fight before letting Woodley get that belt again. The UFC does not get behind Woodley.
Joe is just blinded by his immense respect for people with actual talent, he doesn't see only money bags in fighters like Dana. I know exactly what Woodley is talking about though too, and totally agree with all of the above.

Unfortunately, It's the way the world works. To be the richest, most powerful, and most famous The easier way is to be rude, conniving, or controversial. The legit good guy and gal can do it but it may take longer and may be harder doing it the fair way.
Alex G. . I think proper planning pays off. Many many successful people have become so without self centered conniving sort of effort.. And are usually more sustained financially because they form stronger bonds with their business partners. What you have in the fighting\entertainmemt industry is a show where controversy creates excitement, and appearing to be without concience fulfills a domineering shameless fantasy that so many people wish to act out... In real life high functioning people are well rounded and accessible to their fellows. Perhaps we agree.
noah mccormick , with whatever way you go, proper planning is needed for both. To be the best at whatever you do hard work and proper planning is needed. Look at the good guys in boxing or mma, they dont make as much money as the bad guys. I think only manny pac having the good guy image is the only one who makes a lot but he is not without dirt and he also still does not make as much as floyd.
I understand why he's upset He's worked hard won many fights not getting paid enough The fighters are severely underpaid and i think that is a real problem. Woodley is not the only fighter who has grievances. He's worked hard i think a pay increase would be fair for him and all the high level fighters like him. Most ufc fighters don't even make enough money to retire . for the amount of money the UFC makes their is something wrong with that
Joe you are missing the point of what Woodley is saying. When Woodley says he didn't get the same respect or hype of a Robby lawyer, a Wonderboy, a causcheck, ETC.ETC . He's got a point. What were the odds in the Woodley till Fight? He was the under dog. How about the lawler fight? I think he was the underdog. Tyron has been misjudged and overlooked time and time again. And all I can say is /and still the undisputed weighter weight champ of the world. Tyron can't be overlooked anymore. Tommy's comment
Interesting discussion, it's refreshing to see tyrone open up and understand his perspective on the sport I tend to agree with a few of his statements, respect!
I see what he's saying he has beaten the best of the best and defended against the number one contenders and people still dont give him respect. He does whine alot but as a fighter he is right there with mighty mouse in being a true champ
nick gerz yeah but so what if he’s beaten people, his attitude stinks. If he was fighting in my back yard I’m not sure I’d make the effort to watch. Now compare Tyron to someone like Leonard Garcia - who I’m not sure I ever saw win a single fight. I’d snap your hand off if you offered me some Leonard tickets. There’s more to fighting than winning.
He's just not got a likeable personality, you can't deny his talent or results but the guy just does not appeal to the masses to begin with due to him sitting around like a toddler demanding his title shot, then once he get's it he lays on the whinging and victim shit, it's not like he's an asshole, just a twat.
+nick gerz | Anderson Silva at one time was defeating the best of the best, but was harshly criticized because of *how* he was defeating his competition (Cote, Leites, Maia). Fast forward one year after his fight against Maia and he's all of a sudden regarded as one of the most entertaining finishers in all of mixed martial arts (Belfort, Okami, Sonnen 2, Bonnar). Georges St-Pierre, initially was an exciting fighter who went for finishes, but after reaching a certain level of financial success he started to play it safe (2010-2013); however, GSP's safe-style of fighting was curtailed by his kind, honest, and respectful personality so much of his criticisms were drowned out by the loyal fans he had won (in addition to his Canadian following). Woodley does himself no favors by complaining and playing the victim when his reign is still in its infancy.
Listen, I am not black or white. So i dont have a dog in the racial aspect of this fight. HOWEVER, I just like many others can see clearly that the UFC/Dana WHITE does not market the browns or blacks of the sport compared to the Blondes. Its so obvious. I am not upset about it so this is not a venting or complaining comment, its just an obvious observation. I mean Woodley has a great record and survived twice against a very skillful Wonderboy. He has fast KOs, ground and pounds, tap outs, strategic fights. Did it all. But look how Conor, Lesnar, Ronda, Vanzant, Northcutt have been marketed in comparison to him, Amanda, Velasquez (in his prime)...There's a big difference. Now if he talked and acted like Conor and Ronda pre and post fights, yall would call him a thug. THUG, low life ect...Trust me, I have seen it.
Bravo Kapitan Bravo!!! I have those exact thoughts in my head but couldn't put it on paper better than yourself Sir. And this was before the destruction of Till who was heavily favored. White basically billed that fight as watch the young White European Contender beat the Hell out of the Black American.
Blonde Valentina is now going to be the main event at MGS. Of course UFC is showcasing her against no-name, brown Sijara. A lot of support for blondes in the UFC!
Explains Two of the most marketed and popular fighters of all time Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. Both are favored by the UFC. But yeah makes sense. Ya know the UFC favors what sells. Tyron Woodly has had many boring fights and blames the fans for not liking it.
Of course he is not, but GSP is not too. Kamaru is the best WW ever, and then GSP, and then Colby, and then Hughes, and then Woodley finally. Not even close.
@@KC-bp8wc That's wild to say. Kamaru hasn't yet achieved what GSP has achieved, maybe in a few years after kamaru has performed more. But to say that usman is the best welterweight ever is incorrect.

Tyrone's right but how does he fix it? Be a nut job or a weirdo? He's talking about the draw that comes with having a strong persona or brand or charisma that make people want to talk to him or about him. Well, the Rogan show is a good start.
Let's be honest Tyron is a good dude and shouldn't be disrespected! He's an unbelievable athlete. He's the only 1 on the UFC roster outside of GSP (maybe) that's the best overall athlete! In my opinion, he would pose a legitimate threat to dethrone Khabib and stop his winning streak. The guy can flat out wrestle but can box as well. The power he packs with his punches are downright scary. His last fight was evident of that. Tyron deserves more respect.
His Champ attitude is off , he don't have to explain , he's the fxxxxxx Walter weight Champion smoke a joint and relax dude. Tyron should just focus on Champ life yahhhhhh

Promotion and most combat sports media outlets don’t care about actual skill. They only care about how marketable of a fighter you are. That how ronda rousey came into existence.
Dude, anybody that can fight in that ring no matter win or lose deserves respect, your part of a very small group of people around the world that are elite fighters, people train but that doesnt mean your on the level of seone that fights, and uses there actual skills
I agree with him about the aspect of respect is slowly leaving mma, plus the one this I've been saying for years as a fighter have some respect for the art and look the part. Everytime I see a fighter with a gut a just smfh

True I think he just doesn’t like that he isn’t a huge superstar but I think if he gets one super fight he will be on a Connor type level

MrJonathanhaze I think he should fight Connor because I think that would be an amazing fight and Tyron is my favorite fighter personally and him and Connor where beefing for a bit last year but Connor was to pussy to fight him.
Ben Harding woodley would destroy Conor
Lol not happening because Khabib always scared to fight at hid natural weight.

@@Vladimirputin11111 lol your nickname says a lot, but Khabib does cut a lot of weight and it’s clear to see, you don’t almost die in a weight cut because your fighting at your natural weight.
I love woodley. I didn’t for a while but now that I see interviews and him a lot more I have a lot of respect for this guy.
“I really think professional athletes should look a certain way.” Isn’t this dude a big Ben Askren supporter and friend? 😂🤣🤣😂
He's old??
My guy , Askren came back from retirement to fight in the UFC . Of course , he would look like a milk bag
Ben is old, retired and has had a major hip replacement. Fuck off.
Joe is a good guy. Trying to wake up Tyron out of this victim shit that holds him back and keeps fans from liking him.
Bro foreal man, like people (including me) generally like tyron, but his insecurities just like any human is unlikeable
or he is just another person hushing the racist tones of the american culture.
pudgywudgy why wouldnt you like him because of his own mindset?? i like the UFC for fights, not for personalities....this isnt the WWE
Joe "woke" Rogan
Because people are human. We're slaves to our subconscious bias' whether we like it or not. You are too. The way Tyron projects his personality in public is a sure-fire way to alienate the majority of people.
The things Woodley was highlighting in this podcast have come to light even more over the past few years.
Dude your awesome. Stay focused, keep kicking ass
Who are u talking to?
Guys let be straight up, he really isn’t getting the attention like other champs or even fighters who could be contending. Im not a Woodly fan or anything, but the man just isnt getting the attention like that. This behavior he showed isnt gonna do him any good though
If he wasn't saying shit nobody would care anyways so he might as well speak up.
He’s not getting the respect because he’s a black man .... y’all need to stop being dishonest..... it’s simple ....
Are yu being sarcastic?
He was completely right
He's definitely underrated and not respected enough same as Stipe! Say I'm lying. C Mon Joe
He gets my respect. Mad skills and dedication. The fights with Wonderboy were high level chess matches.
Couldn’t be more incorrect, he just backs up and then closes his eyes moves farward with a overhand right, take zero risk and was very low skilled fighter
I think only manny pac having the good guy image is the only one who makes a lot but he is not without dirt and he also still does not make as much as floyd.
case in point: Floyd "Money" Mayweather.
You dont know how sickening that is.
Alex G. Khabib is a perfect example of this.
I understand why he's upset
He's worked hard won many fights not getting paid enough
The fighters are severely underpaid and i think that is a real problem. Woodley is not the only fighter who has grievances. He's worked hard i think a pay increase would be fair for him and all the high level fighters like him. Most ufc fighters don't even make enough money to retire . for the amount of money the UFC makes their is something wrong with that
Why do so many hate on Tryon. I think he's alright and a bloody good fighter. Ask Darren till
"As far as social media, I really don't look at that though..." after literally opening his phone to read something he'd seen a few minutes before!
@@Raggandrist "There's more to fighting than winning "
At a professional level? No there ABSOLUTELY is not.
Facts. Dana loves his white fighters. He had a beef with Holly Holms for destroying his cash cow Ronda. Dude plays favorites.
They know, they jus wanna stay blind
Explains Two of the most marketed and popular fighters of all time Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. Both are favored by the UFC. But yeah makes sense. Ya know the UFC favors what sells. Tyron Woodly has had many boring fights and blames the fans for not liking it.
Woodley proved an excellent point on how the generation->culture->fans affects the fighters.
