Dundas Square is NEVER referred to as Toronto's Times Square. The only people who ever say that are tourists who don't know how else to describe it so put it in terms of the Manhattan place they're already familiar. We call it Dundas Square. Likewise, no one calls Shinjuku Tokyo's Times Square. It's just Shinjuku. Dundas Square has been this type of place for over half a century: a sensory overload of neon, lights, and garish commercialism.

As a local, I avoid Dundas Square as much as possible. It's plaqued by drug addicts and homeless people.
