I personally loved this arc. It brought in a new blend in the Batman lore. It felt refreshing. Plus having good ol Jim Gordon take the mantle was good too. It brought a whole new character perspective on Jim. It was good.
I love the idea of Gordon becoming Batman. In Year One they mention that he was in the Special Forces, and if anyone knows Batman's tactics and methods its Gordon.

Batman's not dead.....Gordon is gonna let the batsuit get to his head and he'll abuse his power. Batman will return to save the day just minutes before Gordon goes over the line and kills or something. Gordons respect for Batman will grow to new heights once he realizes how wrong he was, but everyone will still be bitter at gordon including GCPD.
James Bond No. Terrible fucking theory. Shows how little you know the character of James Gordon. Even how little less you know the writer Scott Snyder and his love for the character of Gordon. He wouldn't reduce him knock-off of azrael.

My problem with Jim is that he's trying to prove the law works by taking up the mantle of a vigilante that was the only line of defense against everything that would destroy Gotham. Batman is living proof the law doesn't work, because if it did, he wouldn't exist. Every time someone thinks Batman isn't needed, Joker or Penguin or some other super criminal comes out to play and then everyone is reminded that without Batman they'd be dead 10x over. Batman, and by extension the Bat family, is the only thing keeping Gotham from destruction.
Dick Grayson- An Agent code named Grayson after his identity was revealed during Forever evil. Jason Todd- He's Jason Todd new 52 no real explanation needed. Tim Drake- Batman Beyond Damian Wayne- Doing his own thing somewhere in the world. Barbra Gordon- Too young/ Already a Bat woman So that's why none of the Bat-family haven't taken on the Batman mantle.

Its kind of ridiculous how much change is happening for the comic industry. Killing off Batman, having Gordon who is pretty old by now train just a little bit just in time to arrest the Bat family in a bat suit while they're trying to save Gotham, and land some repercussions with his daughter if he does successfully arrest her. I feel like this "need" to drastically change it up is getting out of hand.

I don't think Gordon would be OK with using Batman's name to hunt down his own allies. While I don't mind Gordon being Batman, I don't think he should get into combat outside the robo-suit. And while I wish Nightwing took up the mantle, I understand why he didn't. 1) his circumstances currently prevent that and b) I don't think New 52 Nightwing is ready to take the cowl yet.

Honestly, idc if they SAY he has been trained to peak fighting condition. I won't believe he's good in a fight until I see it. True, age 50 doesn't really matter of you're fit enough. (Ex: People like Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Revelations), but until I see it, I'm not sure.

I hate some parts of the look on the costume, particularly the mask. It looks more like a rabbit than a bat. Kinda hard to take it seriously.
So he's going around in a bunny suit and calling himself batman and at the same time arresting his own "bat family"?
Why take the name? For fear? Cons not going to believe him as THE batman, they will see him as just a guy in a hurting robotic bunny suit. Probably give him a codename too, like psycho bunny.
Why not make a new police squad "GCPD Bunny/hopper Squad" make their own name in Gotham. I just find it weird to take the name when GCPD could just make their own squad and name etc..
