Bruh GSP coming back after 4 years and becoming champion is absolutely insane. Dude is an all time talent, I understand why some considered him the GOAT .
As someone who does mostly like Jones, I still consider GSP the GOAT. To me, he is just the embodiment of a true martial artist. It's true that Jones' record is arguably better in terms of wins as well as potentially competition, but GSP was just a true martial artist. No failed drug tests, respectful almost all the time, always about bettering himself, and always about learning new skills and disciplines. This is probably influenced by the fact that I have done martial arts for a long time and my sensei always taught me that respect and discipline are two of the most important factors, and of course, Jones has not always exhibited those.
Idk man , he came back to beat Bisping 😂 who immediately lost to Gastelum after that and retired . He was great at ww, but that comeback fight is overrated
I don’t know, not really super impressive beating an old bisping. Why did he choose then to move up to middleweight instead of at any other point in his career? Because he was too scared to fight Silva but saw a weak champ let’s be real. Good for him but GOAT? Lol
@116H there's also the advantage of changing your style over the years/months. Although it's harder to pull off since you don't really have any real fights to get used to your new style. But there's no denying that you can reflect on your performances and change what needs to be changed and practice your craft more
Couture vs Sylvia will always be my favorite. Not only did Randy take out one of the most hated champions at the time, he dominated him while totally past his prime.
If PEDs were legal or even just pre-USADA era, Jones would be up the best but in every GOAT discussion without question but his PED failures and reckless behavior in his personal life give some people reason to question his truly remarkable ability.
