You can’t expect a 12in driver to give the articulation of a 6in driver, and you can’t expect a 6inch driver to push air like a 12in driver ... it’s all a matter of what type of sound you prefer. There are many speakers out there that specializes in accurate/articulate that’s what makes the large JBLs so special
They both have their own special qualities. However, if I had to choose one over the other, and it be my end-game speakers, it would definitely be the Focal speakers. The JBL horn sound is, IMHO, an acquired taste. The Focal speaker's sound presentation, I believe, has more of an universal appeal.
The JBL is an entertainment background music speaker for bars and large spaces. The Focal is a HiFi speaker. If you want quality you take the Focal, but some might like the very "colored" presentation of the JBL for some music genre.
Had sopra 2 , wow always dreamed about jbl but now I seem to line sopra based on the sound , obviously room plays huge role , but went to Martin Logan esl15 and don't miss sopra any more , build quality on sopra is phenomenal, but electrostatic sound is something else ,

The JBL is more of a studio sound. The FOCAL is colored. Not sure why everyone thinks that these FOCAL are pure because they aren't. Most people don't realize that FOCAL make great studio monitors and if you compare a FOCAL studio monitor to the Sopra you'll know right away that the Sopra actually sucks.
I would go for a 10 or 12" in mids...15"or 18" in bass...and waveguided neodyn motor mids like beyma cp755nd ...and right room placement and no panel resonances....and go for at least 95db/1w...efficiency ...better even 100 db....for 1 watt

What this vid conveys is that the Focal is way way way more transparent and defined than the JBL and that is very apparent in real life. Scale wise the Sopra is not near JBL but rightfully so because of the size. For comparable scale, try the Utopias.
They sound much different in person. The focal is typical commercial HiFi “very bright” the jbl accurately reproduces the venue (the sound of the stage and space) this was recorded. The jbl is much more accurate to the original recording also is not bright.

I can barely hear the difference in this video file, okay But the JBL66000 is clearly more than two notches above the Focal, with dual 15-inch subwoofers, beryllium treble, and big horns. It should be compared to The Focal Grand Utopia

Чудес не бывает, тонкие короткоходные нч сч в паре в малом корпусе, рупорный вч это весь набор для эстрадных мониторов но никак не для высокой верности.

Depends on the room size. For very large rooms i would go JBL and medium sized i would grab the focal.

If I am not mistaken these are Sopra 2......you can tell from the smaller low freq woofers as they are 7 inches.......even more amazing then......

I like the midrange on the Focal, but the base and sound stage on the JBL is big.
DD66000ツイーターの音がほとんど聞こえていないのがはっきり判ります。もう少し条件が整ったら比較対象になると思います。FOCALは、正しく鳴っていて心地良いです。
左右も近すぎますしスピーカーとの距離も近すぎますよね、このスピーカーなら最低でも3.5m以上離れて聴かないとウーファーとツイーターの音がミックスされずまともなステレオ感や音像定位も得られないです、せめて短辺4.5mで20畳ぐらいは無いといい音は出ませんな....
@@下田洋介-w4z LF－MFのタイムアライメントが元々合ってないので曇った音、バイアンプ－チャンデバで、遅延かけて鳴らすと、狭い部屋でも行けるのだが、そういった仕掛けをしないと、距離を取るしかなくなりますね。FOCALは、タイムアライメントの心配が無いユニット構成で、この部屋では有利。

This is not a good test, the original recording is actually awful and sounds like it’s recorded down a hallway which the jbl reproduce very well.

처음엔 소프라가 훨씬 낫다고 판단했는데 두번째 다시 들어보니 에베레스트가 더 깊이 있는 소리입니다. 울림있는 에베레스트가 더 낫군요.
