Rock and metal vocals always make me giggle when played solo out of the mix
Very formidable. :D I also love how the pitch correction is more natural, and that there's no AutoTune on the lead vocal. I love that kind of production myself!
Great tutorial! Thanks David.
Nice one David, cheers.
Your information are always inspiring... you are a true Mixing Wizard :)
🙏

What a dude
Hi David. What about a video on electrical treatment?
Once I get my money right you he the Old person I try to contact and send gift to I've learned alot from you I don't use gear to mix but I take everything you talk about cause I know it will be helpful one day 🫂♥️ I don't even make rock music or country music but I know everything will be helpful one day I love mixing with all my heart started mixing when I was 14 I'm 23 now ❤
Damn you're good man...Hard to think of other UA-camrs who get into the nitty gritty like this. I find it so entertaining. Thanks brother.
Also PS you may hear from my partner soon who blames you for my recent analog obsession, thanks for that $$$
Thank you!
Hi David, idk you have a video talking about this question i have on EQ that is, in my case i have a low pitch voice and most of the time just using a bell curve of -5db around 220hz to 290hz takes away a lot of the mud and the woofy sound of my voice, but in specific words the EQ is not enough. Should i use a multiband compressor or maybe cut those parts and make the unique as a sample and assign them to a new insert and use other EQ ? I don't want to reduce the volume or the body, just the muddy part.
You either automate another EQ band or use dynamic EQ, it's a fairly common problem and easy to fix
@@mixbustvthanks a LOT, you're the best. i'll join as channel member today
Hi David, awesome tutorial! I just have a quick question about the Low-Cut at 200Hz. I know every song is different and requires different settings tailored to the specific track I'm working on but I wanted to know if I should be High-Passing male vocals generally around that same area in order to get the vocal out of the way of Bass, Drums, and other Low-End material. Up until know I've been starting off the static mix with a cut of around 100Hz in most circumstances, is that not enough of a cut to avoid masking at the beginning of the mix? Thank you!
I'm very confused, where did you see a cut at 200? The main LV cut is at 62 here. Do NOT cut your vocals that high, especially by default. I've been saying this for the longest time. Let alone 200, if you want to destroy your mixes, cut everything by default, that's the easiest way to have a thin, ball-less mix with no power.
@@mixbustv My mistake, I thought the channel strip at 0:48 was on the vocal. This clarifies a lot for me though, I'll definitely make adjustments. As always thank you so much!
@@deswestens The cut is @ 62 Hz. And the channel is for vocal.
Getting the right punch involves several key elements:
Stance: Start with a balanced stance, feet shoulder-width apart, one foot slightly in front of the other. This provides stability and power.
Hand Position: Keep your hands up, protecting your face. One hand should be near your cheekbone for defense, while the other is poised to strike.
Rotation: Engage your core muscles and pivot your hips as you throw the punch. This generates power and momentum.
Accuracy: Focus on your target and aim for a specific point. Keep your eyes on the target throughout the punch.
Speed and Timing: Punch with speed and snap, but also with control. Practice timing to ensure your punch lands at the right moment.

5 k seems to always work in most vocals
