Regarding creek fishing combos: I suggest going whole hog and going straight to ultralight. It's just more fun. 13 Fishing Defy Silver UL, Okuma Celilo UL, and Shimano Sensalite UL are all pretty well regarded ~$50 ultralight rods. TFO trout & panfish UL is kind of a gold standard in the $100 range. 5'6"-6'6" is the sweet spot. Daiwa has several really good $30-70 1000 series spinning reels. Find the thinnest line you can find and go catch all the fish!

That bobber was in the kit for a reason. You can float your bait forever without snags. The fish don't know why it's staying at the same depth, they just see a tastey snack above the snags moving with the current. Bobber on, cast 10 to 15 feet upstream from the hole and float it in.

    Species (In order)
    Spotted Sunfish (Lepomis Punctatus)
    Bluegill (Lepomis Machrochirus)
    Longear Sunfish (Lepomis Megalotis)
    Bluegill Again
Longear Sunfish again. (A pretty big one too.)
My favorite creek combo is the St. Croix panfish series. Usually partnered with a Shimano Sedona. Great combo that will last forever.

Awesome video. I believe the first fish Trey caught was a rockbass hybrid based on the eye color. It most likely crossbred with a green sunfish. The pumpkin seeds are actually long ear sunfish.

Light or Ultralight, no more that 5'. Bait- Spinner Baits like Blue Fox Vibrax or small Rooster Tails, Whopper Plopper or Choppo, or medium to small soft baits like a 3-4 Hellgrammite or craw. There is other options, but thats the basic. Also, to avoid a backlash, I've seen a lot of people using "triggerspin" or "underspin" closed-faced reels. They have a lower weight limit, but creek fish are usually on the smaller side anyway.

Although that depends on the bait you use, what your fishing for, and how much you want to put into it. As you have said, you don't need an spend a ton to catch fish, it's just nicer. I also recommend a solid backpack that is nice on the shoulders for terminal tackle because it goes quick on bad days at the creek.

I know this is kinda old but we always buy st Croix 4.5 foot UL rods with a like a 1000 size spinning reel. It's big enough to help fight the fish but small enough to get through the brush.

My go to creek combo is the 5 foot to 6 foot Lew’s Laser Lite, with 2 to 6 lb test spooled on the reel

Honestly a $15-$20 spinning combo from Walmart with 6-8 lb mono will work great. Y'all move too fast, make too much, splash too much and get too close to the hole. Try staying in ankle deep water when moving up stream. If you need to cool off fish the hole first. Fish the bottom also with a small sinker cast upstream and let the current carry the bait into and through the hole

6ft light or ultralight paired with a 1000 size reel with 4-2lb line (I use mono). That’s the PERFECT creek combo

You norm and logo should do just a normal 1v1v1. No fancy tricks, no expensive rods, just using your favorite combos and lures and fishing against each other. Normally I wouldn’t recommend this to a fishing channel, but you guys are always doing something crazy so I want to see how you are just straight up fishing.

My creek fishing combo is a Fenwick HMG 6' Medium Light with a Pfluger President reel. I love it, the rod is the star for sure. I'll probably end up swapping the reel at some point with either a Team Lews Custom Lite or a Shimano.

Pfluger President reels are a steal. I have few and are really surprised how solid they are for the money. They make a ladies model which is a nice fit for ultralites.

Check out temple fork trout n panfish rods. The shortest one would be great for creek fishing. I use the 6ft 6in one

I used the same trout magnet kit in January going for trout, I had the gold hook with dark pink worm and hooked me a large mouth! 🔥🎣

April needs a 6,6 medium light you need a 6,0-6,6 light and trea needs a 7 ultra…. And tusk those micro bobber cast upstream and let it float down naturally or cast strait out with your bail open and let it drift downstream. When the bobber goes down close the bail and set. Thank with a UA-cam mention. Lol

Lews medium light 6ft fast tip rod with a shimano Sierra reel 4lbs line is perfect for the panfish and smaller bass you may encounter. Both rod and reel are at a lot of Walmart’s.

If u wanted to catch just about everything in that creek fish with an ultralight spin combo with 4lb line with a split shot about 4 inches above a #4 aberdeen hook with a cork around 18 inches above the hook and use live crickets. Catch one almost every cast!!

I know you were using kit's today, but my go to bait is a small Beetle spin and multiple color box of curly tails.

I like my 5’0 Mr. Crappie rod with a Daiwa Regal LT reel. I use it for creek, crappie, pond, and finesse fishing.
