You should install the included thermal pad - this little bugger gets REALLY HOT!
To bet honest I havnt noticed that much heat
It.depends which name ssd you stick in
It so cool to have a case for theses stuff, nice video bro. Love your new setup.
Thanks
Motion vfx plugins 👀 nice one!
I have one of those external NVMe M2 enclosures and an Android tablet.
I couldn't get the tablet to recognize that external drive and allow me to play videos I had on there.
I took out the M2 from that regular enclosure and put it in this Acasis device. Now I can play the videos on my Android tablet
Awesome stuff
You need to format the SSD to Exfat for the tablet to recognize the drive.
Thanks for the review !! Is it compatible with Windows 10 or 11 ?
Should be compatible with both
Ok I followed your channel and got that same hub and I have the song ssd drive installed but every time I launch say omnispher and logic thats library is in the drive it says it can not find it any ideas as it’s frustrating as I have to point it to the location and it’s not simple as then it has to be online to recognise the library is installed at that location any help please
I’m looking into this for my iPad Mini 6 on the go photo work uK the field. Can it power on external battery pack for few hrs?
I’m not sure but it should power from your iPad once connected with cable , since it powers from my MacBook with 1 cable I can’t imagine it requires allot of power .
How did it work with your ipad Mini 6 in the end?
Hi Mr. HTech. After more than a year of use, how's the ACASIS doing? I heard from UA-cam comments that they're not recommending it because it gets too hot to the point it's untouchable which may cause damage to the NVM drive itself. In fact, I also read somewhere that it gets already quite hot by just connecting the hub for a time without anything connected to any of its port at all.
I’ve been using it every single day as a dock basically for my MacBook and monitor, still works perfectly fine , all the ports work fine.
No issues whatsoever
@@MrHtech I see. What Macbook are you using specifically?
By saying everything's perfectly fine, does it mean that you get to use the NVME ssd often even at high temperatures with no issues at all even if you use some, if not all, ports with an extended period of time?
@@nathanielngosy
Well I first used it with my MacBook Air m1 for a while then I recently changed to the MacBook Pro 14 M1 Pro, both work perfect.
The NVME in the hub is always being used as I transfer back and forth UA-cam content all the time. I use the usb ports and as card slot aswell for either powering something or content transfer.
They all get hot does not matter who made them. That how they work. More ports more work to do more heat. I think some therma pad are included in this one. If not use some, and after installing some therma pad make sure that 1 is enough " make sure the therma pads touching both the matal enclosure plus the Nvme . Use x 2 therma pads if one is not enough to reach the metal.
Hi. Tanks for the video. Two questions. Does the “microphone” jack support an external Mike? Have you tried to use it with an iPhone 15 pro max?
Good question , I have not tried it with my iPhone 15 pro, I will see if I can find a microphone that uses the mic jack and not usb c to test.
@@MrHtech Tanks …wait for the test ☺️😉
Can I connect a PC and MacBook Pro to it simultaneously?
Haven’t tried that haha it has one pc input so I’m not sure
Do you know it can work with the iPad air 5 with m1 or iPad pro 11 , without the extra power
It should work fine without any extra power , it needs the extra power if you want to add external displays etc
It is very nice, but is not as stable as a T7 or Sandisk Extreme. Maybe the next iteration will be
But then again the San disk and t7 are only external storage no extra ports, I’ve been using my Acasis hub for over a year with no issues👌🏼
@@MrHtech agree. I wanted to buy this, but i saw guys with so many issues. Losing some ports after a month, to hoot in extreme conditions causing failures and also ssd incompatibilities. You cant put any ssd you want.
Besides that I am a very big fan of what they are doing
is 4k in 60 hz? Is power required for the SSD drive to operate?
Yes 4k 60hz , you don’t need power in to operate the ssd, but you do if you want to use the hdmi port
What's the purpose of the network socket?
If your somewhere that doesn’t have Wi-Fi and needs to be plugged in with Ethernet , then you have that option as would otherwise wouldn’t be able to connect 👌🏼
Hi, what program you use for cutting this Video? Thanks in advance Rgds Carsten
I use Final Cut Pro for all my video editing 👌🏼 thanks 😊
@@MrHtech Thanks for the fast Response. I'm not sure, just came back to the Apple MBP World, I thought about using Davinci Resolve. What's your 2 cents here? Will highly appreciate your advice about this. Greetings from Germany
@@carstencroessmanndavinci is not bad, if you plan to ever go to windows then davinci can be used on both systems unlike Final Cut Pro which is only available on Mac, also final cut does cost however there are easy ways to renew the 90 day trail and keep using the trial version which offers the same stuff as the full version.
Hi there
!! Is there any 2TB SSD with low power consumption that you know of, that can work on the M1 Pro without the extra power adapter??🙂 I read this hub uses 5v or so; so perhaps a 2TB SSD that can work with that amount of power from the M1?? Thanks a lot, I’d appreciate your thoughts on this very much🙋🏻♂
I use a 1TB Nvme in this without any extra power, just connect the usb-c cable to my MacBook and it works.
Hi Julio perhaps you found any solutions to use this with a 2tb ssd without extra power?
@@TheGuigotz not yet, I'm still looking 😕
Is it compatible with a 2023 Mac mini M2 Pro?
Yes should be no problems at all
Can you load any files onto an iPad with this?
Yeh it works as an external drive
Very cool usb it’s not on Amazon tho nice review 😎🇮🇪
Only on USA amazon, I've put a link to their website aswell
Hi, is this compatible with Windows/Android ?
Yes it should work perfectly fine
Have usb e/a windows error with this.. China tool..
no error for me :/
