You should install the included thermal pad - this little bugger gets REALLY HOT!

I have one of those external NVMe M2 enclosures and an Android tablet.
I couldn't get the tablet to recognize that external drive and allow me to play videos I had on there.
I took out the M2 from that regular enclosure and put it in this Acasis device. Now I can play the videos on my Android tablet

You need to format the SSD to Exfat for the tablet to recognize the drive.

I’m looking into this for my iPad Mini 6 on the go photo work uK the field. Can it power on external battery pack for few hrs?

    • @MrHtech

I’m not sure but it should power from your iPad once connected with cable , since it powers from my MacBook with 1 cable I can’t imagine it requires allot of power .

Hi Mr. HTech. After more than a year of use, how's the ACASIS doing? I heard from UA-cam comments that they're not recommending it because it gets too hot to the point it's untouchable which may cause damage to the NVM drive itself. In fact, I also read somewhere that it gets already quite hot by just connecting the hub for a time without anything connected to any of its port at all.

I’ve been using it every single day as a dock basically for my MacBook and monitor, still works perfectly fine , all the ports work fine.
      No issues whatsoever

    • @nathanielngosy
      @nathanielngosy Рік тому

@@MrHtech I see. What Macbook are you using specifically?
By saying everything's perfectly fine, does it mean that you get to use the NVME ssd often even at high temperatures with no issues at all even if you use some, if not all, ports with an extended period of time?

    • @MrHtech

Well I first used it with my MacBook Air m1 for a while then I recently changed to the MacBook Pro 14 M1 Pro, both work perfect.
The NVME in the hub is always being used as I transfer back and forth UA-cam content all the time. I use the usb ports and as card slot aswell for either powering something or content transfer.

They all get hot does not matter who made them. That how they work. More ports more work to do more heat. I think some therma pad are included in this one. If not use some, and after installing some therma pad make sure that 1 is enough " make sure the therma pads touching both the matal enclosure plus the Nvme . Use x 2 therma pads if one is not enough to reach the metal.

Hi. Tanks for the video. Two questions. Does the “microphone” jack support an external Mike? Have you tried to use it with an iPhone 15 pro max?

    • @MrHtech

@@carstencroessmanndavinci is not bad, if you plan to ever go to windows then davinci can be used on both systems unlike Final Cut Pro which is only available on Mac, also final cut does cost however there are easy ways to renew the 90 day trail and keep using the trial version which offers the same stuff as the full version.

    Hi there
!! Is there any 2TB SSD with low power consumption that you know of, that can work on the M1 Pro without the extra power adapter??🙂 I read this hub uses 5v or so; so perhaps a 2TB SSD that can work with that amount of power from the M1?? Thanks a lot, I’d appreciate your thoughts on this very much🙋🏻‍♂
