@@AdelekeAugustus well I think that would depend with involved parties. For instance if the child really wants to get higher education for their own good then yes. But from what have heard and seen seems like most of the parents live their dreams through the kids and get some sought of pride and identity from being called parent to Dr XX or Engineer XXX or Lawyer. Just my thoughts though ,could be a win/win or win/ lose plight, depending on the reason for involved parties!! Btw I'm from Kenya and I think this issue applies to almost all Africans lol!
@@puritybundi8204 This sums it up perfectly. "Living their dreams through the kids". Isn't it funny how parents across the continent have the same mindset. Thank you for your contribution, Purity.
@@AdelekeAugustus Yes it's funny , disappointing but not surprising!! I suppose it ties back to what you talked about social economic classes and education being the factor that enables one transition to a better class. But again, I don't blame them our economies are something else ( at least Kenyan one ). Thanks for the video!! It was a great clarification
Hi @Adeleke Augustus, I have been following you since last year and I finally came to do my masters at the University of Kentucky in August 2022. Thanks for the insights especially on the F1 visa interview. I got approved on my first trial.
I dislike the idea of extra lessons. I'm glad my parents never put me through that. I hear it's beneficial though Your points are valid. School is usually a safety net
Hahaha…. I had two extra lesson tutors. In retrospect I don’t think it’s that beneficial. I didn’t learn how to ride a bike until I was a teenager, I had zero social clue. A very bad way to raise a child in a world where everything hinges on human relationship. Thank you for watching, Chizzy!!
Hello, please i have a question for you . I was rejected last year at the American Embassy please i want to know if changing my course of study from the previous course of study which i got a rejection is going to be so problem? Thank you
@@AdelekeAugustus I guess you don't understand my question, i mean is that i don't know if because they already have my data in their system, if the previous course of study is going to come up when i go for my next interview

This makes so much sense now!!! " you are their retirement plan!"" so technically, its a win/win situation
hahaha you think it's win/win?

So true. Most Nigerians prefer being in school than being jobless.
Yes! Frankly, it's strange to me.

Sounds like Korean parents too. Same school schedule and after school tutoring expectations
There's no such thing as "overly" educated. The more knowledge you accumulate, the better.
Unapplied knowledge is a waste
Great vid bro!

Hi! Very rarely do people get rejected solely because of their course of study.
