What are you talking about? It's literally the best time to be a "poke investor" Everything is 50% off and extremely cheap you can buy up massive quantities at a huge markdown. How exactly do you figure that's not a "good thing" for investors? The word you are looking for is scalper / flipper and those people haven't doing anything since 2021 when the pokemon craze ended.
I’m Australian and I bought some Pokémon packs yesterday. 56 dollars for 7 packs! So expensive in my area in my country. Others in Australia are so lucky, they get their packs for 4.50$ each 😅
I think it’s kind of better for us that stay in the hobby that prices are tanking and things are becoming more affordable, BUT… with the pull rates being TOO good it kind of ruins the chase, yk guess we gotta wait and see what the rest of the S&V era has in store. hopefully it gets a little more balanced
You know when Rev is using one of the safest car seats for his kids he loves them dearly. How lucky they are to have such a awesome dad! And i know he feels just as lucky to have his family and us as fans. Miss my dad so much. Had to go off topic for a moment to recognize just how awesome he is.
For me, I find more value in pulling my own cards over buying them individually. The cards I pull have a story to them instead of just having a dollar value. Thats what my collection is mainly about.
The whole Scarlet & Violet situation I think is good. The prices may be down but this makes it more accessible for people to access the hobby and enjoy the fun of opening packs and collecting cards. Historically I always thought it was too expensive to get into until Scarlet & Violet era when things were on sale and affordable thats when I jumped on the train.
As a collector who collects for the cards and not investments, the lower prices is like heaven for me! It’s like pre covid Pokémon cards where it was affordable to master set without spending thousands of dollars.
It great to hear someone talking about the change in the hobby. As someone who got back into the hobby in the early Sword & Shield Era, after being in and out since the OG days as a kid, these new sets are fun but the chase seems to be a lot less of a "chase." That being said I feel like Pokémon is going to be fine. Yeah Scarlett & Violet is trying something new but that's how most things go. I know there are a lot of people saying Lorcana is going to "take over" but I think it is going to get more people into TCGs in general which will also help Pokémon.
@@A2B_MusicJust wanted to say the same… Im from Slovenia and the chespest i can get packs for is like 4,13€, and even thats only on occasions when a certain shop has a -20% discount… + usually they only have silver tempest, astral radiance and lost origin if youre lucky…
I am new to getting back into TCG's, so take this opinion as not a seasoned veteran, but the full art and illustrator cards are the ones that really brought me back into it. I was always way more into yugioh when I was younger but that was because of the art mainly. i loved the art! I noticed that the dragonball cards recently have a full card art style that I am looking forward to diving into, they look so sick! could you imagine full art yugioh cards though?!? schwing!
I've been ranting about this so much. there's so much stuff we don't get here and the things we get are usually INSANELY priced in comparison. like this box would easily be minimum 80€, if it was sold here.
@@Prinz-Metal that's what I'm saying. and even then the cards would be in English. I mean there's worse, but I like to collect my cards monolingually and English is not my language of choice...😅
I think it’s great for others to get into without spending crazy amounts of money to get into and be intimidated about like maintaining there hobby within it and it’s get because kids can actually spend less to actually enjoy it without there parents being scared spend sooo much money for it so in my opinion it’s a good thing to an extent for a broad range of people to get into it
Lower prices are definitely more consumer friendly. The crazy prices on the older sets are only for the dedicated collectors, but if a company wants to thrive, it's better for them to get more casual people involved.
I think it's kind of good, it makes sets easier to collect, the cards themselves are very reasonably priced too, it's a nice refresh, they may slow down a bit but it is nice
i personally love these videos, when you go out and give insight and opinions on the hobby as a general, i know that your openings and reactions and cool setup is what got you where you are, but its your take on other issues in the hobby that do it for me. good stuff rev
I agree and we'll see what pokémon 151 the English set does cuz Scarlet and Violet has been a letdown even though I don't really open pokémon cards anymore it's kind of violet when I watch people open it it's just looks like a terrible set
These boxes are legit fun to open because of the set variety. Opened 2 with my wife and she pulled an alt art v from chilling reign and I pulled a vmax alt art from one of my two evolving skies packs. #LuckIsOnMySide 🎉
Increased pull rates are not necessarily a good thing, it great to get all the necessary cards I'm the set but there's no chase, no rarity and bottom line that's what stops everyone from buying! That's my best logic on it
So i stumbled across your channel a while back and the crazy part is im 43 and never really into Pokemon but after watching your videos and they are very informative and fun to watch as well, my youngest daughter is 16 and we started bonding and having our own thing by collecting Pokemon. Thanks @pokeRev
I think the lower prices are good for me personally for me as a collector who recently got back into the hobby. This give me a chance to invest in sealed products at a lower entry point and hold onto it and see what the market does over time as a passive investment.
Yeah, its weird. I get better prices buying market rather than distribution. I pay around $83 a box for SV at distro level, however, I can get a steady supply of them for $62/box from market
I recently got back into collecting with my kids. Absolutely hate that I got rid of my OG set from my teens. It's been fun picking up packs with the kids and we even got into building decks and playing.
I feel like scarlet and violet is aimed towards playing and not collecters/investors. The sheer amount of pulls drastically reduced the price of the big hits. An example would be a recent convention I went too, people were selling alt arts $4-12 per.
You saved me so much money. I was about to place an order on whatnot for 2 151 Korean booster boxes for $300. After watching this video and did some digging I found some sellers selling the same boxes for $40 a box. Legend
Here in the Philippines prices are still the same if you look at the official stores of Pokemon TCG, I hope we can see those prices drop soon. It will definitely be consumer friendly but not for the heavy collectors that are really investing big bucks.
I’m seeing tons and tons of reviews on this box about the packs being resealed or tampered with. People saying they bought multiple boxes and got zero hits.
YES! The pulls from silver tempest on forward have been insane Left and right on every Booster or even ETB. It's best to but the card but if you like the opening of them just as a hobby then you'll keep loving Pokémon- not so much if you are investing in it.
I’m new to Pokémon collecting. Still learning. Market looks healthy to me, but I don’t have anything to compare to. I might have to get a Sam’s membership now tho.
I guess I got lucky. I bought one from our local Sam's and pulled a couple of decent hits.... flareon trainer , machamp VMax, and Galarian Perserker. So all in all not too bad.
The prices are crazy right now, especially this 151 but hey extremely worth it 🤘 thank you for the amazing video love your dedication to the community🖤🤘🤘🤘🤘
Scarlet and Violet definitely feel strange. i'm not as excited for sets as I was for sword/shield. Definitely buying more cards individually vs opening
It’s definitly an interesting time for Pokemon with the pull rates and the prices. I love opening packs but it’s not very wise to spend more on packs when you know you can just buy the whole thing for less. But then again it takes away from the thrill of completing the sets on your own 🤷🏼
I just startet collecting pokemon cards. And u are by far my favorite UA-camr. I learned alot about pokemon tcg, what to do and what not to do just by watching your videos. So thank you for that!❤
I honestly enjoy opening packs, it's not the same feeling when buying singles in my opinion but I do see the upside to those who want to complete a set. I'll be heading to Sam's Club to add that box to my collection if I'm lucky to find them 🙏 hahaha
I think it's healthy for people who are actually collecting to collect rather than for resell value. Imo that's a good thing. This could be one of those sets that get slept on and have crazy value way later.
I’ve bought a few of these packs and finally came to the terms that these may be so cheap for a reason. You’ll be lucky to pull one full-art card from them
I really enjoy open some boosters and try to pull something. For me is a good thing those crazy FoMO prices gone down for now. I hope this continues at least in S&V era.
I think the cheapness of SV era is a good thing. It ensures that the people who really want the cards/products will get them. The real economy has cycles so it makes sense that the Pokémon market would as well
That’s why I don’t like getting boxes with a couple packs from a bunch of random sets. The chances to strikeout are higher in my opinion. I’d rather buy a bunch of packs from one set at a time. Like etb or booster bundles, premium collections or even a bunch of single packs of the same set off the shelf.
The hobby is still alive, look at any Sun and Moon booster box. Every one is blowing up in price. People are still are buying lots of Pokémon just not the new stuff
I actually appreciate when you post the videos where you don't get anything. It's relatable and realistic and balances off the times that you do hit.
