I was never a Britney fan and considered her a one hit (me baby one more time) wonder, so this song passed me by the first time around.
This video convinced me that it is actually a classic in its own right.

Maybe by "one hit wonder", you mean what you personally consider a good song, but Baby One More Time is by no means her only hit song.
