What I'm going to say does NOT apply to cops or the "real" world. I'm referring specifically to school and bullying. Maybe it works in the workplace, I haven't been able to test that though.
Standing up to bullies DOES work, but you have to fit a couple of criteria.
A.) you need to be at least somewhat physically capable. You need to be actually capable of putting up a decent fight. You don't need to be able to win, you just need to be able to make them hurt
B.) you need to give 0 fucks about the situation.
İ stood up to my bullies, but it only worked because i was scrappy and knew how to fight. İ also very obviously did not give a shit if i got in trouble for it. They had nothing to gain from bullying me, and everything to lose. İmagine being the guy who got a black eye or a chipped tooth from the nerd who sits in the back of class. By following the two rules above, i got away with not being bullied the entirety of my middle school and highschool years.

I'm in Las Vegas one of the most corrupt law officer States.
I've had the police accused me of resisting arrest among other counts, I won every single court case in under 2 minutes.
I pissed off the police officers and they made mistakes or I intimidated them and made them back down from giving me charges.
I've never committed a crime in my life and never had a DWI.
They also beat me while I was under custody, they also denied me medical Care, they also punish me for exercising my fourth amendment.
But I've had traffic violations 20 years before. No serious charges just traffic fines.
I have won four cases against the police for their incompetence they're easily emotional state and their cowardice on camera.
I've won body cam footage from them to prove. Intelligence and self-control outweighs a police officer everyday.
Enya they put false charges on me but they never stuck because they were as I said before.

Does it absolutely suck on the moment? YES. Does following their orders make it easier for you to sue if/ when it's found to be an arrestable offense, YES! Fight it in court, not on the road side.
