The song was used for the Death Note anime series . The video follows the theme of the series with people dying. The group at the end is the actual band. M.T.H. has had a major influence on the Japanese music scene. Hanabie started out in high school as a M.T.H. cover band.
I've long since lost the list I saw of all the artists, but apparently almost all of the other bands/musicians in the video except maybe 1 or 2 are played by actual japanese bands. The Goth group normally had a brighter more colorful look, but the rappers, the duo with the acoustic guitars, and the female guitarist were basically all playing themselves.
Hanabie. actually started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band so I am glad you checked them out. Hanabie. have Maximum the Hormone DNA flowing through them. Maximum the Hormone are responsible for inspiring a lot of the bands you have checked out on your channel like Hanabie./Nemophila for instance. Would love to see more from Maximum the Hormone and Hanabie.! The end of the video was the real band.
That is amazing!!!! I can see where they get alot of their style from! I'm so happy I found Maximum The Hormone! , I just recorded my reaction for their song Alien! Omg I was blown away! It should be up by tomorrow tonight. Being a huge lover of Nemophila and Hanabie makes me happy I found Maximum!
@@TheMetalMixtapeglad you liked it I harassed you to do the Nemo cover and just knew you would dig the song. MTH is a huge influence on Japanese metal and especially female drummers like Tamu from Nemo and Akane from Band Maid. Really the best intro to MTH is Yoshu Fukushu which is a song about Ryo the guitarist getting bullied as a kid. The drummer, Nao is his older sister as well. Enjoy that Nemophilia cover, it was done in Covid so each are just at home doing it. They obviously though love playing it.
Love Maximum the Hormone, they are a uniquely great band. My personal favorite is HUNGRY PRIDE! That track is a brutal driving track. I highly recommend it for future consideration.
Kumamoto Nao, the band's drummer is the inspiration behind Murata Tamu (NEMOPHILA) and Hirose Akane (Band-Maid) also becoming drummers. Tamu-san is a fantastic pianist in her own right.
Maximum ARE a little crazy, but crazy in a good way. What also is crazy, is how much great music from Japan is 'hidden' from the West. I know you will love the Nemophila version. PS, Nao? was the inspiration for Tamu wanting to drum!
Yep, the last 4 were the chaotic ones responsible for this music. 🤭 Completely crazy and brilliant at the same time. 🔥🤘🏻 If you really want to know how far this level of chaos goes, you have to do the MV to their song 'A.L.I.E.N.'. Excellent idea to do this before the Nemophila cover! I've been watching your videos since you first did Band-Maid and Nemophila I think it must be years ago now and always hoped you'd eventually get around to Maximum the Hormone. It's a perfect segue and essential to your J-Rock education really! There are several Nemophila covers that introduced me to new bands as well so it's a great way to broaden the horizons. Keep up the great work and thanks for the entertainment!
MTH is a whole different, surreal rabbit hole. Total genius and a great bunch of talents. Nao Kawakita, MTH's drummer/vocalist, is the woman who inspired Nemophila's drummer, Tamu (and many others). Nao-chan is a great character. Her younger brother, Ryo Kawakita (AKA "Maximum the Ryo-kun") is the guitarist, co-lead vocalist and main songwriter.
