I had to come back to tell you that after laughing heartily last night when I shared your dump truck story with him, my husband and I both woke@3AM and when I realized he was awake I whispered "dump truck,"and we both laughed so hard we had trouble falling back asleep. Thanks for the news Skip. Just love the Smash-&-Grab advice. Its not just a Villages issue. I can not tell you how many time I hear someone say "A thief broke into my car and stole my wallet, my phone, my laptop, my . . . . . " And then come to find out they had left their car unlocked and all their valuable on the front seat. Stupid is as Stupid does. 🤣
You are right... Here it seems people let there guard down which is understandable in a retirement community, but with the size of TV and rules not enforced, drugs and grown children living here things have changed

Skip, you are correct I have a home in Hammock of Fenney and the Gable above my garage is a different color than the rest of the house and the trim. Many of the courtyard villas here in my neighborhood have 3 colors with the gable a different color.

I’m curious about the garage window issue, too. Seems like letting light in would be helpful. Maybe windows create a security issue?
I heard somewhere that thieves can break a garage door window, reach in, and some how disconnect the garage door opener mechanism enough, so they can roll up the door manually, and get inside the garage & house.
I’ve watched 100+ skip & villages video, so finding the earlier discussion is impossible for me.

Hello Skip, love the channel. From what I understand children under 18 can only stay no more than 30 days. Maybe they need to make a new rule for adult children who commit crimes who live with their 55+ parents, one strike and your out!
Yes that is correct...under the age of 19 visitation is 30 days per calendar year except for disabilities...

On another note you mentioned that the golf cart paths were originally made just for golf carts if you look at the lane devider post coming out of Everglades parking lot towards hogeye trail it says golf cart only but every -------g day there are people and bicycles in the on coming lane around
90 ° turns one lady does 2 mph in one of them rascals she even had more than 10 golf carts backed up behind her come on not to be mean but seriously whos to blame when they come around a blind corner 🤔 I know who but that doesn't make it right, they are for golf carts there are bike paths and guess what there not for golf carts 🙅♂️
My understanding of the "golfcart" lanes, is they are all for golfcarts, bikes and walkers. There are very few walking trails for people who want to walk or run.
They are being used that way but not designed for that purpose, as Skip has said before. You can't have elder people riding a bike for the 1st time in 40 years trying to climb the hill on a bridge with a turn like Waterlilly Yes the villages should put in a bike/walking lane but they didn't and won't so people will continue to get hurt or killed because of in my opinion their own stupidity go up and down the path by hogeye trail in Snowbird season that's not a walking trail hogeye is 🤔
When I said the original paths where for carts only, I'm talking when The Villages was called and advertised as a golf cart community. Spanish Springs was the only square, when LSL was on the drawing board the cart trails where changed to multi mogal after Harold passed.
Fair enough still says golf carts only at Everglades, but I guess will let people continue to be stupid get hurt or killed we have far outgrown multi model system, drive waterlily & Brownwood bridges I came around the corner on Brownwood a couple and there dog were taking up the whole lane in the turn and not the oncoming lane, about the middle. I'm 66 so I'm giving myself permission to say a lot of these old people are both arrogant & and stupid, and no, I have not pulled the throttle still factory 22mpr top speed

No...you must be a resident or have a visitors pass that has to be gotten by the resident you are visiting..you can do everything on a lifestyle stay. You can play the C.C. courses as an outsider but you must call for a T Time if any available..

One thing we noticed when on our lifestyle visit in 2022, everyone was in such a GD hurry on the golf cart paths. I plan on slowing down in retirement…I want to leave the rat race behind

Sounds like the guy who pushed his wife out of the golf cart might be suffering from dementia. It can make even the sweetest guys in the world turn violent. Not defending him, but it’s a possibility.

Too many people should not be driving. I ‘ve known legally blind people still driving. Also too many people with dementia as well
Lots of drama in the Villages... Seems people getting into domestic disputes should find a hobby or job to divert their anger issues .. Sitting around with to much time on their hands is not healthy at any age.

Skip you could be a newscaster (with a sense of humor). Not a Villages resident (and never will be), but find your videos honest, informative and amusing. Anyone who is thinking of moving to the Villages and doesn’t watch your videos first, is making a big mistake.

District rules differ in different districts. District 10 says 2 colors . Always check your District rules and or get ARC permission

Regarding the golf course problem of improper maintenance. If you hired me to manage and fly your private jet, and I let the required maintenance be ignored causing the devaluation and lack of use of the aircraft, would you keep me on the job……The answer is no you wouldn’t because I didn’t do my job……The golf course manager should be fired…use his salary to fix the courses.
