My experience has been trash. I purchased Galaxy Frost in 2016. Pantry arrived destroyed; every cabinet door had to be retouched as they arrived with dings and gouges. The touch up Galaxy Frost touch up paint does not have the same color or texture as the cabinets so that’s a hot mess. Two doors were warped and couldn’t even be attached. The paint began peeling off at the joints w/i 3 weeks of install on the sink doors. My builder replaced it. Cloth cleaning w/Dawn, of the cabinets near the stove has worn the finish off. My kitchen looks tired, w/distressed cabinets. Fabuwood says that cracking is a natural feature of wood-it CAN be, but I replaced a 1959 kitchen with custom wood cabinetry that was in excellent condition despite 3x daily use by a family if 5. When they were removed I was able to sell the doors as the flat panel style was back in style. With these Fabuwood cabinets, I could not have sold the cabinet doors within two years of installation and certainly not now after 6. I was horrified after installation, when I noted the 50-50 reviews on Fabuwood. Those who did not like their cabinets experienced the same as I did: the product arrived damaged, the product chipped very easily, and those who had had the cabinets installed for some time were not happy a few months after installation. Those who reviewed the cabinets positively wrote reviews shortly after install.
Hi!! I have to admit, I brought on Fabuwood about 6 years ago and sold their line as part of our offering. At first I was happy but then we’ve experienced a lot of freight / delivery related damage. A few warranty claims here and there are expected. But the freight damage on a continued base was why I had dropped the line from our offering. About 3 months ago we just now introducing Fabuwood back into our offering as they have made lots of improvements, especially sending their own freight trucks to the West Coast (Im in WA). So far we’ve had a few deliveries/ kitchen products and the quality seemed to have improved. Now just remember though, this is an entry level cabinet line. Most of my projects we work on are semi custom lines like Bellmont where we experience a different standard. You do get what you pay for, and I think you have to align your expectations with the quality of product you are investing in.
@@TheMaterialBar I completely agree about setting expectations. The expectations I set with my builder for my $120,000, 12 x 10 kitchen were clearly not met with this level of cabinetry. It’s heartbreaking when I compare this cabinetry, after 7 years of limited use to my 2008 $10K (cheap)basement kitchen cabinets and to the custom cabinetry my parents had installed when they built this house in ‘59. The delivery damage set the remodel back two months. I am glad to hear you say that they are at least delivering in part of the country. As I look to install matching cabinetry in my connected dining area, Fabuwood’s decision to not stand behind their product lets me know that I have to look elsewhere. I cut ties before the end of the build with my well-known builder and lost all ability to have Fabuwood fix the continuing issues or even issue touch up materials that actually match the cabinets.
I love Fabuwood!!! I have mine since 2017 for my 60th birthday. I’m looking to get a house built and I’m was wondering if Fabuwood is solid wood or something else, meaning the outside door? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. The cabinets behind my picture are Fabuwood ☺️☺️😍😍
Hi Stephanie and thanks for watching! Happy to hear you're enjoying your cabinets :-) The Fabuwood doors are all made out of maple. Hope this helps and good luck on your new house!!!
Just saw your video. In one of the comments you stated that you have stepped away from fabuwood. Do you currently recommend these cabinets or not as much? Have you heard of Yorktown classic/iconic brand and do you recommend?
Hi Gabrielle, thanks for watching. I had to step away from Fabuwood as we are located in WA State and with shipping accross the country we've experienced too much damage. If you are closer to their facility in NY state I think you can still give it a try. Yorktown cabinets are a step up with quality. Fabuwood is really more of a builder line. I always enjoy working with Bellmont but with their high demand, they've recently stopped offering shipping to the east coast to bring lead times down in their local markets here on the west coast. I hope this helps and good luck with your project!!
Hi! At minute 5:00 of the video, I really like the whole look of the photographed kitchen, not only the cabinets! Can you let me know the detailed name and material of the countertop? And the subway style backsplash, please? Many thanks, David
Hi David thanks for tuning in! The countertops were: 3cm Quartz by Spectrum - Color Poise Dark #QM3068D & the tile was: Batch 4x12 subway tile in white, here is a link surfaceartinc.com/tile/collections/studios/product/batch.html Talk soon!
Hello, Very nice video with details :-) . I Understand they are are NJ based company but would really love to know what country the box & door is made as well as where it is finished and assembled.
Hi Michael, thanks for watching and leaving your comment. Yes, the company is based in NJ and they used to import their parts from China. I believe they moved on to import from Vietnam at this point due to the import tariffs. I believe all parts come finished and they assemble in NJ but don't quote me on it. I suggest reaching out to a local dealer and asking that question. Good questions though! Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you! Take care!
@@TheMaterialBar Thanks. I reached to customer service for Fabuwood and confirmed it is no longer China but Vietnam. They stated that "manufacturing" was in NJ but when i asked if that was really just assembly or customer cabinets or was the milling of wood and spraying the did not comment.
Can you recommend a vent insert with a baffle filter that fits in the 36" Fabuwood Hood? I am having difficulty finding one to go over my gas range top.
Hi Nancy, thanks for watching. We have moved on from Fabuwood and I don't have the spec book or can make specific recommendations. I suggest talking to your dealer you are working with as they can check directly with Fabuwood for any vent recommendations. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best for your kitchen remodel!
@@nancycarey6521 You know in all reality our work is all done in the greater Tacoma / Seattle area and Fabuwood ships from the East Coast. It would ship in large Common Carriers and there was just too much damage we had to deal with due to transport. After all of the increased import taxes Fabuwood has steadily increased their price as well to where they are way to close for me now to other higher quality brands like Bellmont cabinets. From experience I'd rather promote really good quality...I've done several Fabuwood kitchens and it's really if you need a budget kitchen but again I'd rather go Bellmont nowadays and be smart about my selection to keep the cost down but start off with a way better product. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!
You can get lifetime warranty with the 1600 line, 1900 line and Vero Line with Bellmont. This is a down and dirty builder line to help people on a lower budget tier. For most projects we start with the 1600 line which is a solid cabinet line and life time warranty. Thanks for watching!!
Unfortunately we do not longer offer Fabuwood Cabinets. It was a bit too tough for them to ship all the way to the West coast. If you want to see their current colors though, feel free to visit their website at www.fabuwood.com/ Thanks so much for watching!
Im reading a lot of mixed reviews on this line. Have you had any experience with Whites yellowing, or poor delivery of products such as dents, chipping, crack or damage and have had to deal with their customer service, which I hear is poor?
Hi Dana, thanks for tuning in! I never had issues with whites yellowing and I did a fair amount of Fabuwood Kitchens but we've noticed a common trend of poor deliveries and poor finish ending up in dents, chips etc. which then turns out to be a real headache for us as a remodeler and our customers. This is why I ended up stepping away from Fabuwood. I would invest into a better cabinet line like Bellmont ...after all the issues and call backs for your installer you will most likely come out with a better overall price in the end. Hope this helps and good luck on your project!
Terrible experience with Fabuwood Galaxy Frost. ALL the cabinet doors cracked at the corners within 5 months of install. One door appears to be sagging. They do chip easily. Worst purchase ever-ruined my kitchen!
Hi lady and thanks for tuning in! That is a very tricky question as cabinet cost differ WIDELY! throughout the US. For us in WA state costs are crazy from vendors through to suppliers, contractors and end consumers. I can't really speak of it and honestly shows like Fixxer Upper have very much set very wrong standard showcasing super unrealistic prices from Texas for everyone watching throughout the US. Here are some tricks to keep your costs down for a Fixer Upper though: Try to stick with a builder cabinet line, usually painted cabinets are more expensive than stain or laminate, I highly suggest trying a fun laminate and creating a modern touch, don't use corner cabinets rather do voided corners - corner cabinets (wall and base) are very expensive, try to use floating shelves in some areas to save on cabinet cost and install cost. I hope this helps and good luck on your flip!
Thank you for taking the time to reply in such a thoughtful manner despite my question being so ambiguous. And yes, your reply helps. I like that your videos are clear, helpful, and to the point. :) Best Wishes!
