She was a good dog man. I was only able to feed them (English Mastiff and a 140lb American Bulldog he had a 36" head he was a big fella) was because my Dad owned a feed store, so he would let me help him at the store, and run errands ect in exchange for dog food.

@@GlorifiedGremlin it's important to teach your kids how to act around and to dogs, more bites happen from little dogs being manhandled by a toddler.. I taught my kids from a super young age, to NEVER EVER HUG ANY DOG! Never play with their food and don't pull of their ears, skin tail ect. It's your job as a parents to teach them how to behave around ppl and animals. Whether they are big or small... I also had my dogs around my kids both Super large dogs, the most they ever did was get up and go to their bed when they were done playing with the boy's. And the boy's were taught once the dog is done and on her/his bead that's the dogs safe place and the kids are to leave them alone. It's imperative you teach them these things no matter how big the animal is... Even a small dog will and can do damage to a small child.. I chose to have large dogs around my small children because of LOTS if reasons. But the dogs I picked are some of the very best dogs to have with kids. Small dogs bite more kids than big dogs, i also trained both my dog to do verbal commands and signs, the biggest was also the most lazy which is another reason I bought her. Leas likely to get bored and destructive when I didn't have time to play with her. There are so many factors you need to use besides just size when picking a dog to be around your kids.

When I was a baby my uncle got my dad and I a boxer, they were amazing, I see a lot of people don’t want to get a dog when they have babies or small children, but if you get them used to their scent and they’re well trained you’d be surprised how well they take the ear and fur pulling of babies

Personally having had 2 of these gentle giants, I have to say they are the best breeds for a family and just in general, our current English mastiff weighs 250 pounds, most English mastiffs lick to show affection but ours is a biter. But he knows not to bite the little kids in the family because he knows it hurts them. As for the older people, he loves to nibble and wrestle, every thing in this video is true, they are truly the best breed for basically anything. And one thing he left out, they sleep a LOT. Especially as puppies.

I took care of an abandoned mastiff this winter. Wish I could've kept her but she's too big for the apartment I live in most of the year. I tried for months to get someone I knew to take her. So I could see her again.
I haven't gotten to see her again. I worked with a private foster agency so she wouldn't end up in a shelter but still. I miss her. She ruined a bunch of my stuff, screwed my neck up dragging me around, and was a really untrained dog, but she desperately wanted to be a good girl. I cried when they came to get her lol. She had skin flaking issues and they paid for the vet appointment so it was really all the best for her. But still.
I have her bsf. The teacup Yorkie abandoned with her. The agency said they wouldn't be able to get them adopted together anyway so I just kept him. Paid for his vet bills. He's my little homie now. Still miss that mastiff though. Yes I'm a bleeding heart for dogs. I can't help it. I kept two dogs someone abandoned for 4 months just so they wouldn't end up in a shelter lol.

Make sure you feed them slow do not try to put as much weight on them as quickly as possible you will blow out their joints feed them nice and slow keep them light not skinny but light because the bigger they are the harder it is on their joints my live to be almost 15 so I've got some experience with these Critters. LOL and don't let then play after eating their stomachs can flip and also it's best if their bowls are raised up off the ground this will also help avoid that problem but don't play with them or take them on a hike or run or whatever after a big old meal because that can be deadly for these guys..

@@keysersoze363 I got her when I was pregnant with my first baby. She was absolutely amazing with my babies!! She was AMAZING!!! Females aren't like the males... Males are typical goofy and friendly Females are the opposite most not all but MOST Females of this breed are this way. And the Females usually bond best with women. They're absolutely amazing family dogs.

My dad had one and he was the nicest dog ever. Unfortunately he died a couple months ago at the age of 7. He was walking and fell on some ice and ended up breaking his leg in 3 different spots. They had no choice but to put him down because his leg would’ve never healed. He was so big he would’ve broke it every time he stood up

Tibetan mastiffs are big, but not as big as they look, it’s the pure amount of fluffy fur they have on them that makes them look so big. Really they aren’t that big.

I did door to door sales years and years ago....I almost had a stroke one day when I knocked on a door and suddenly heard what sounded like galloping horses coming around the house....3 of these mastiffs came hauling ass towards me. I knew there was no where to run, so I stood there until they reached me and started licking me all over and slobbering everywhere. I was never so relieved and disgusted in my whole life!
lol. They were absolute sweethearts though...❤❤❤
I was also attacked by a german Shepard, Australian sheep dog, and my final day on the job I walked towards a house, saw a pitbull in the window, and quit on the spot.
    (I know they're good dogs...but I'd had enough.)
