  • This is an updated video after Malta has been entirely mapped in 3D by Google.
The old railroad in Malta operated from 1883 to 1931 with the idea to extend the line to the barracks in Mtarfa.
The Museum on the north side of Mdina is the last known real stop.
The total length of the tracks was 11 km.
The underground tunnels were ventilated by series of towers, some of which still exists.
The tunnels were used as shelters during WWII, with side rooms excavated on both sides, especially toward the Saqqaja side, which has been closed off by residential buildings restricting access.
