The reason why I'm thinking about going to an aviation college is because of the fact that when you're getting hired by a major. All the other candidates will have Aviation degrees as well

It is a popular route. Many companies no longer require degrees but consider that when pilot jobs aren’t readily available what may help you stand out.

Haha that is for sure. It’s a big paycheck upfront but the industry pays you back.

First, you just need to get the 250 hours with your commercial certification, then you find a job here or there to build up to 1500 hours. Or, you become a CFI and build up the hours that way. It’s expensive, but the biggest hurdle is the first 250 hours for that commercial certification.

It's 1 year of education 1 year of building hours and $80-$120k vs doctor which is 15 years of school and $400k-$1.2M

Lol very few places are going to hire someone with a pilot license but no GED equivalent or no bachelor's...

@xblade11230 literally everyone is hiring anyone who has a highschool level education and the flying certifications. Bachelor's level education certificates are no longer required by any airline operating in the United States. A simple Google search would've told you this

@phantomphoenix9539 You do realize that the requirements listed are the bare minimum and that even for ged minimum positions it's extremely common to hire somebody with a bachelor's over just someone with just a GED
And my original statement is hiring without GED or bachelor's
Source personal experience, worked at Siemens while the job listings for technicians said minimum ged required, bachelor's preferred there's not a single new hire in the past 20 years that got hired for a technician position without a bachelor's...

@@phantomphoenix9539 A pilot does a lot of math intuitively, you need to understand basic physics like the speed equation, acceleration equations, gravity, how to calculate weight etc... understand principles like air pressure, drag force etc.. You don't want a stupid person flying your plane
Can you get hired as a pilot without a bachelors? Yes but the odds are astronomically low especially if you don't have nepotism
