This video is the p-e-r-f-e-c-t example of why I want you to be my coach, Eric. It's drills like this that I feel I need to get better. One day, I hope to be able to do some in-person lessons with you, but video lessons like this will suffice until that can happen. Great video. Great Lesson. Outstanding Coach.
Another great lesson. The stick in the range bucket is a veerrry good visual training 'wall' for me. Thank you Eric for another thoughtful golf lesson that will serve me well !!
eric, your instruction is always so "solid and right on".. i always go to you for the answers, you take the mystery out of some of these golfing terms. thnx.
Hi Eric. Hope this question makes sense. I have an over the top swing …plus, making consistent toe contact and not great ground contact. So, what is the priority of these three or can I work on all three within this drill? Thanks a lot!
Hey John! Yeah I bet all 3 of those are SYMPTOMS of the same ROOT issue. All 3 should be helped with this....if not send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can see your swing and diagnose what's going on
Hey Chris! Yep thats about right on height... How far from trail side---if you setup and pose a takeaway with the club down your toe line roughly parallel to the ground.....the rod should be about 3/4 of the way down the shaft
Hey Jeff! when you setup pose the club down your toe line with the shaft parallel to the ground Put the stick 2-3 inches above that from down the line view That would work for all clubs
Would be great if you could add some shot tracer data to your videos. We would love to see the results of your strikes (club speed, ball speed, carry distance, total distance, etc.)
Hey Corey! You move the low point forward (where you hit ground) mainly through 1. Body rotation 2. Weight shift 3. Arms moving forward as they shallow Remember getting it over 4 o'clock is an EXAGGERATED....FEEL.....so that in reality when you hit the club comes down right on plane roughly 3 o'clock down your toe line.
Eric doesn't this contradict the your video of two years ago "The Easiest and fastest way to shallow your Club" where you show to swing the club outside not inside; I have to admit I pretty confused.
Hey Jim! sorry for any confusion! Just two different way to get the same outcome. Some like vanilla, others like chocolate....but both are great ice creams. That video was all about the CLUB/SHAFT tho.....keep that in mind. The idea there was to get the CLUB HEAD more outside on way back.......BUT.....with HANDS still in! Thats ONE way to get the opposite reaction on way down......exaggerated example there would be a Jim Furyk or Matthew Wolf This one is about just getting the depth done right away......still dont want the club head whipping inside the hands tho....idea here is about the HANDs/ARMS depth Hope that helps

Appreciate that! Happy to help guide you---thanks for the kind words and support :)
Great video breaking it down into very clear and easy steps to execute.
Thanks Don!

Appreciate it! Yes...this is definitely one of my go to's!
Excellent video, love your lessons and drills. Have been using at driving range and my game is improving, thanks.

Glad to hear this Steve! Thanks for watching the channel!
Great video Eric .. trying this drill already ..and finding a lot better result.. need to add driver as well ..thanks buddy
Love it Ed.....this is a good one. One I always use as a go-to starter drill setup to get the downswing from inside. Hard to go wrong!
Perfect. Thanks
Our pleasure Oscar!
Excellent Eric!
Thank you Jim!
Reminds me of the Malaska move. I quite enjoyed the videos you did with Mike Malaska.
👊
Mike is awesome!! Glad you enjoyed those videos!
Hey Eric,
Would it be the same feel with all clubs? Drivers, woods, hybrids?
Hey Brian! Yep
Hi Eric. Hope this question makes sense. I have an over the top swing …plus, making consistent toe contact and not great ground contact. So, what is the priority of these three or can I work on all three within this drill? Thanks a lot!
I'm glad you asked this I have The same issue...

Thanks for the reply. Great teacher!
Good video⛳️
Thanks babe!
Epic video! Thank you!
Thanks Grant!
Great video👍🙏
Appreciate it!!
For the alignment rod how high do you place it, wrist height? And how far from trail side?
Hey Chris!
Yep thats about right on height...
How far from trail side---if you setup and pose a takeaway with the club down your toe line roughly parallel to the ground.....the rod should be about 3/4 of the way down the shaft
What angle would the stick be for set with a driver?
Hey Jeff! when you setup pose the club down your toe line with the shaft parallel to the ground
Put the stick 2-3 inches above that from down the line view
That would work for all clubs
Would be great if you could add some shot tracer data to your videos. We would love to see the results of your strikes (club speed, ball speed, carry distance, total distance, etc.)
Thanks for the feedback!!
How do you avoid hitting it fat whe you’re coming so far inside like in the drill?
Hey Corey!
You move the low point forward (where you hit ground) mainly through
1. Body rotation
2. Weight shift
3. Arms moving forward as they shallow
Remember getting it over 4 o'clock is an EXAGGERATED....FEEL.....so that in reality when you hit the club comes down right on plane roughly 3 o'clock down your toe line.
