Pandas are the best! So cute, cuddly and playful. As well as the most well mannered of all the bears, I doubt a grizzly bear would be so cooperative and sit for pictures no matter what tasty treat you serve.
OMG, this was shot in September of 2003, which means Fu Fu had turned 2 already and yet, they were still allowed to sit with and hug him!!! 😮 Fu Fu was so cute but at that size it could be dangerous. How lucky!!! I’m so jealous, no more hugging pandas… ☹️
Thanks for the wonderful video. Fu Fu is such a handsome panda. His mom is #20, called "Number One beauty of Wolong", who died tragically last July due to poison gas accident. Fu Fu definitely inherits the good look from #20.
Fu Fu 's brother was the hero panda Xiang Xiang who died tragically in 2007 after he was released into the wild in 2006. Fu Fu 's mother died this year (2010) accidentally when toxic gas leaked into her enclosure. Fu Fu is extra special to all panda lovers.
The closest large city is Chengdu, it is about a four hour drive from there to the panda reserve. There is also a smaller breeding center just outside of Chengdu. Our tour was with the National Zoo in Washington. The trip was arranged by a company called China Advocates (they are on the web). They took care of everything
Oh, so sweet! I wish that I could be in that picture! It's my dream to hold & cuddle a sweet panda! If I had but one wish before I leave this Earth, it's to go to China to the Panda Reserve to visit the pandas & hopefully, be able to cuddle with one!
@@yunshencai1785 why was it not allowed to hold them and take photos? I was planning to go over there after the pandemic to have a feel of touching them and take photos. Is it confirm that they do not allowed this then I will not go over there.
The big panda Fu Fu is actually the twin brother of the heroic Xiang Xiang, the first captive panda released into the wild. Like his brother, Fu Fu is also a good fighter. Both brothers r v cute!
He was already 2 in this video, I can’t believe they were allowed to still hug and sit with him! So lucky, though a bit dangerous. Fu Fu is so, so cute!
I wanttttt to hug that bearrr...omg so cute.... But I am guessing they give'em food to keep him busy and not attack? lol lol lol He is thinking.." why these silly humans love to hug me"? ahahaha
Those keepers were certainly nervous nellies about Fufu scratching you. The lady before you wasn't concerned either LOL! I envy both of you. Fufu is adorable!!! Those biiiig ears, oh my goodness! The one who was translating didn't even know his name, she had to ask the other one. Aw..
Fufu was moved to Fuzhou city this dawn, because Wolong Panda Reserve was badly damaged during the earthquake, most pandas have to leave Wolong and be sent to safer palces. The saddest news was that a female panda named Maomao was killed in this disaster, her rotten body was found on 5th, June... Moreover, another female one, Xiaoxiao, is still missing, staffs there said that maybe she's already buried under the mud and rocks rolled from mountains...
This is awesome. I believe there is a reason for everything, What let me to this video I dunno, but now I Know I'm going to China. I'm gonna hold a PANDA!!
i think you have to donate $100 to the panda research center, they are collecting funds for researches to help increase pandas' birth rate so they can release pandas back to the wild once they no longer are endangered.
@Lunarock - If you go to the Panda Reserves, such as the Chengdu Breeding Reserve, or Bifengxia, you can have the opportunity to sit with a panda cub or a full grown panda. The fee we paid was 200 yuan per person to sit with the cub and 100 yuan per person to sit with the adult. My understanding is that the fees have increased.
@TheAsianNinjaKitty 200 Yuan is about $30 US dollars. There were no children visiting the Panda Reserve when we were there, so I don't know if there are any age limits.
@njpandahugger $30 to hold a panda is a STEAL! I figured that it would be at least several hundred dollars. I can see why they've increased the prices. Tripling the price would still only be $90. The expensive part is traveling to China.
it's becos organization and individuals can adopt pandas, and thus have rights to name the panda, however according to chinese way of naming;normally composed of two characters, like Tai Shan in USA;the last part is "four" from carrefour, which became "fu" as another character in Chinese, means happiness

It cost $50 for both of us to sit with the cub and $25 for both of us to sit with the adult. But this occurred atthe Wolong Preserve, which is now destroyed.
The panda is adorable. But I hope people respect and cherish them as a kind of living creature, not a merchandise. I wonder if the panda feels disturbed if lots of people make him take pics with them and try to hold him. After all, the panda is not human being.
@1jen7 Seriously? These guys are scientists and they're trying to breed the panda. Also, the panda can with a lot of human contact still behave naturally in nature.
It’s not Jin Hu. 🙂 Fu Fu was born 8/25/2001, so way before Jin Hu was born. This guy visited Wolong in September of 2003 and sat with Fu Fu. Fu Fu is the twin brother of Xiang Xiang, the very first panda that was released into the wild and died tragically in February of 2007.
@@RoyalPurpleStar Thank you so much for the reply and your information. @@shirleywong5525 well, actually their survival rate isn’t low nowadays. It was only because Xiang Xiang was not properly trained since it was the very first time it was ever done. So they stopped the program for quite many years and completely revamped the training program and have had pretty good success so far, according to reports. They’ve totally eliminated any human contact from the second the panda is born, so they’re completely trained by their mothers in wild environments, just like how real wild pandas learn survival skills with their mothers p.
