I've always maintained that the open section on the hammerhead could house at least one Snub. With the release of the Fury, it could probably fit two, which would be a solid complement for the ship.
We won't. CIG said times and again the the hole in the center is to remove mass of the ship to make it faster and more maneuverable, and that is is not, and will not, be modular.
Thanks for this, i loved every minute of it. Happy to say that im a proud owner of one of these magnificent and majestic ship. She wasnt a chain to get anything else, she is my endgame gunship.
first time being this early to one of these videos, hammerhead was my first large ship and one of my favorites over all so im very excited to hear the Paul Shelly narration of this info.
I remember my first time seeing a HH. I landed in my little Aurora and a player did a low slow flyby in an HH. It was a huge wow moment for me, because big player ships were not really a thing yet. It is still my favorite combat oriented ship to see around the verse, and will be a must have part of any high value military or industrial Capital ship's escort. Another excellent lore video!
@@mrdrux A Friend and I were racing ground vehicles, and a Hammerhead did a low flyby straight overhead. It was suck a WOW! moment lol. My only multicrew combat experience is Defending in a Reclaimer!
Please consider adding these videos to your podcast platform. That goes for your livestream vods too. My personal time is limited but its not a big deal to throw a downloaded podcast on in the background while im working. Im sure Im not the only one who would benefit from easily downloaded content. As far as I'm aware, my only other option would be to get youtube premium to download.
As I’ve said before this ship is a icon for this game at least to me it is, mainly just do to the design of the ship, also while watching the video this is just a PT boat from ww2
It's a scavenger hunt, between Jump Point Articles (Star Citizens Monthly Magazine), Ship Brochures, Lore posts on the COMM LINK of the website, and Miscellaneous references by devs in videos.
Was hoping to learn why there is a useless gap the size of a torpedo bay located in the forward part of the ship. Form follows function, what's the function of the gap?
In a way, it can be considered weight saving. Designers will literally come up with any way to save weight on a ship. So if they can save a thousand tons by cutting out the middle of the ship without ruining her performance? Then it shall be done.
The Hammerhead is _the_ anti-fighter ship. For newbies: It has almost twice the firepower of an outpost. The Hammerhead has _one_ weakpoint; the back. But god help you if the Hammerhead has any other ship to guard its ass.
It's actually an in lore reference. It was a tradition for residents of Borea (Magnus II) to try and convince visitors that a secret fourth planet named “Triggerfish” existed in the Magnus system. It has become the in verse replacement for April Fools Day. So it was the designers at Aegis or the military having some fun. Almost certainly meant as an Easter egg.
@@TheAstroHistorian well that’s my kind of Easter Eggs … sort of take me back to the first day of high school as a transfer student in NYC. But... it's in-de-fat-uh-guh-bull, not in-de-fa-git-uh-bull. Meaning, not fatigable, tireless... rather than incapable of being kindling, or not a cigarette. Isn't it? Good lore, Paul!✌☺

I had no idea they had so much hammerhead lore - Thanks for putting this together!
When the ship released in concept they released a 6 page brochure of just the lore. It has one of the most detailed lore of any ship in the game.

0:31 nearly had a heart attack lol
It's great to know the name Garibaldi has crossed into another universe!
doing security no less.
Just a few tweaks to layout of mainly doors and doing something with the hole in the middle and I would love it. So fun to multicrew.
Landing pad for a Fury 🔥

All this lore makes me wonder why the hole in the center and whether we'll be able to mod things into the center hole.
We won't. CIG said times and again the the hole in the center is to remove mass of the ship to make it faster and more maneuverable, and that is is not, and will not, be modular.
Love the Hammerhead. Currently a massively underrated ship I feel. Love the lore around it, thank you 🙏
