    Great video. Love your honesty and sense of humor. Fellow guitarist and lover of Jesus. I almost got a Plethora X5 a few years back when it came out, went for a Helix Effects instead. Ended up returning it lol, had a faulty output. I have a Pedaltrain Novo24. Pedalboard into my Kemper toaster. I like TC electronic pedals. I kept the Spark Booster (the one with the 4 knobs) and use it as a Mid boost after drives. Pedalboard has been powered by a True tone CS7 (will be changing it to a Ciosk DC7 due to power versatility requirements). I haven't gotten electrocuted yet LOL. I like your rig. Pretty versatile and also minimalistic at the same time. Im considering purchasing the new Plethora X3 to go after my comp-drives (3) - boost - Dunlop Vol Pedal - as a mod/pitch/lofi workstation before Delay and Reverb. Thank you for your video!!

      Great to meet you, Javier! Thanks for stopping by and watching my content! Oh yes, TC has a great vibe, don’t they? I also find that their stereo pedals can mono sum well. Even their reverbs don’t mush up when playing them mono. I use the Spark as a pre-drive boost to squeeze more gain out of the MojoMojo and the Dark Matter.
      The X3 sounds like an incredible real estate saver while providing TC tone. And yes, do get the DC7 for power! That USB output is so good for the Line 6 wireless, or powering my Sony camera!

    I was planning on using the plethora x5 with my hx stomp XL and dedicating the HX solely to Amps and the plethora just to the effects with a strymon 'verb before the final fx return. It looks like I'm on the right track. As for quirky pedals, I use a Guptech Berryverb reverb pedal and its a very cool monster.

    Great info. Thanks. Question - You mentioned that the Plethora is in the effects loop of the HX Stomp, and your drive pedals are in the effects loop on the Plethora. The HX Stomp effects loop converts digital to analog on the send, and converts analog to digital on the return. I'm assuming the Plethora does the same thing. How do avoid latency? Great stuff.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! I don’t feel the latency with this “double D/A/D conversion”, it’s probably there but it’s negligible.

    This video made me smile. Thanks! I'm a user of the Headrush MX5 right now, but I really want to move on from it. I just can't decide between going the switcher/multi fx route like the Boss MS3, the Plethora X5 or X3, or the HX Stomp, or just standing pat. I have weird needs I guess. My favorite music to play is hard rock and metal (stuff like Metallica and Soundgarden) where I have lots of distortion and then mid song go from searing leads to crystal cleans with chorus, reverb, and compression. I need something where I'm not tap dancing all day. I use a real amp as well: Mesa Dual Rectifier. I own a few other pedals as well that I love and use regularly: a JHS fuzz, a Dunlop Wah, a Digitech Whammy, a Maxon OD9, a TC Electronic Dimension, and a Wampler multi delay pedal. The Headrush was suiting these needs but I find the switches on it to be quircky; they don't always work, and the expression pedal on it doesn't work well either. Which is a shame because the unit itself sounds great, but usability is bad. I recently tried the Boss GT1000Core, but I hated it and sold it almost as soon as it came thru my front door. The interface was awful and I wasn't impressed with the effects or amp sims on it. This video made me laugh because here I'm trying to decide between the very two pedals you decided to integrate with each other. My budget won't allow for that so I need to pick one. Any suggestions?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for watching! The problem I have with the Plethora is that it's designed to mimic the experience with pedals on the floor. If you need instantaneous switching between clean and lead sounds (like bringing in a chorus and delay, while switching out overdrive), it's quite hard to do that with the Plethora unless you have MIDI. The HX Stomp has a much better point of utility and flexibility in this regard. I'd choose it over the PX5 for this purpose.

    You can totally do Stereo Input in Strymon Iridium … read the Manual … or you can do the 4 Cable Method with the Iridium and Plethora X5, which means put the Iridium Mono in the FX Loop of the Plethora … nice video …

    Nice video, interesting ideas for the pedalboard setup.
    I have a pedalboard just with Tonex and Helix XL that I use for everything. I setup midi from Helix. Every song is a new preset. Every preset has snapshots that send midi and changes to the relevant amp on Tonex. I also now have a Dream 65 pedal which I really like, considering a new setup.
    I am happy that I offload dsp heavy modeling to tonex captures. I can use helix only as an effects / snapshots device per song.
    Are the reverb / chorus / octaver / delays better then Helix on Plethora? I never bought TC Electronics pedals. Worth the upgrade? Should I also get a X3 or X5 and combine with Helix + Tonex?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  7 місяців тому

      Oh nice rig and setup, big ToneX or ToneX One? I’ve heard the Dream 65 is quite different to the Helix amp models (in that it is far more realistic and sometimes that makes the margin of error in tweaking smaller. Helix pushes amps beyond what’s physically possible).
      The TC stuff feels different from the Helix with its own vibe. My guitar heroes use TC gear so those are the sounds I vibe with. I’d say Helix effects are more tweakable, but the TC stuff is more sonically distinct.

    • @SerkanBerksoy
      @SerkanBerksoy 7 місяців тому

      @@AllAboutWorshipGuitar Drean65 I think one of my most expensive pedals. I think it’s most fun to play vs Helix and vs Tonex in terms of Fender models/ captures. You can use pedals in front. My favorite is Caline bluesky transparent overdrive with this. I have the big Tonex because of midi. I am quite happy with the captures. I will never buy a Friedman amp because it’s over 3k Euros but I can enjoy it in Tonex. Also Tonex is fire and forget. I don’t have to tweak except volume staging. Everything you download according to likes on amplitube is worth going to stage. Makes things so much easier.

    Hi great video tks. One question how would you compare the quality of the delays reverbs and modulation effects you get from the plethora to those found in the stomp helix ? I LL be interested in your feed back on this. Regards

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  2 роки тому

      Thank you for the kind words! I'd say they're on par in terms of quality, but they have their individual vibe and unique character. The Plethora seems to have an edge in being able to mono-sum better than the Helix effects. A stereo Glitz reverb on the Helix, for example, sounds weird when mono-summed, but the TC reverbs sound great whether in mono or stereo. But I think the Helix has an edge in terms of tweakability. Parameters are much more accessible than on the Plethora, which sometimes groups parameters together into one knob.

  • @azcoyote007

    Your setup confuses me. Why the PX5 and a Helix too? I have the Plethora myself and it seems like it would do all the HS does. I’ve considered jumping off the PX5 just to get to something without the overwhelming junk that is TonePrint library. Thoughts?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! The PX5 is missing amp sim, which is why I wanted to go with an Iridium originally. Then I thought, since my HX Stomp was lying around, I might as well see what happens when I integrate the PX5 in its FX loop to expand the limited number of blocks on the HX Stomp. Turns out, the TC sound has a different vibe from the Line 6 effects, and now that I have them both in one rig, I can go with either flavour (or combine them).
      Oh yeah, I can totally relate to the cluttered and clunky UX with the TonePrint library. But Line 6's Custom Tone isn't that much better to be honest.
