For solo players: Gren resetting your stat changes is based on the timer, so if you just wait that little bit out, you can stat up with no problem since it also won't attack you until you make a move, saving you time and HP!
Could be good for a weakness policy slowbro setup
@@somejerk5662 you don’t really need weakness policy since that only sets you ahead one turn. A crit might slash can do a lot since it ignores your defense boosts and even a crit hydro pump hurts. In my experience, just going for leftovers is safer since you can heal back a decent amount of the damage you receive and not need to slack off as often.
This works wonders. Once he resets your stats he wont do it again, so just wait out the timer. Slack off if you get a crit and you're golden
The first turn is actually a good chance to use a defense cheer because cheers aren't reset by raid boss stat nullification and then slack off until the stat nullification will usually get you to full health and then you can set up with a bit of extra protection from the cheer you did.
@@chello656 he only nullifies stat changes once so just waiting for a minute sets you up far better for the long run
The most frustrating thing about this raid is when even if you set up everything right , if that nigh slash crits, your raid may just be over

Greninja so far has hit 2 critical night slash's in a row like 7/8 times already for me. What can you do 😔
For some reason it likes to freeze me every single time just about, and it lasts for over 3 turns without fail
Unlike Cinderace, Greninja has no attack boosts so crits don't do that much damage. Just keep HP topped up.
Interesting thing I’ve noticed with this raid:
If you team up with a Pokémon that knows intimidate, the timer won’t start until the menu to pick an action appears. But if there is no intimidate ability that starts the battle, the timer will start as soon as Greninja does the first double team.
2 slowbros and 2 intimidators (and a screech user) bring this down quick quick.
I've been using the slowbro+shell bell but instead of iron defense for turns 1 & 2, using cheers because "removing your stat changes" doesn't take away the effects of cheers - a hang tough turn 1, then go all out turn 2, and another hang tough turn 3, then a slack off on turn 4 (when he will "remove" your stat changes before you can move), then start iron defense x3, nasty plot x3, and stored powers til greninja goes down. Coupled with any intimidate pokemon as your ally, just like with cinderace, this was entirely painless for me and relatively quick. Thanks for all you do Austin!
I just wanted to say thanks to you, the slowbro that beat cinderace just beat the greninja. You were right, I solo'd the froggo while staying around full health the whole time after my first slack off. Like... wow! Hope you can keep the good grind up too!

Honestly the only way my Slowbro got taken out was a Crit Night Slash. It worked surprisingly well

Instead of slack off try chilling water - get it minus 3 on the first 3 attacks since it takes your buffs away turn 4. Then go for iron / nasty. Worked for me 1st try :)
^this was a SOLID strategy. By the time I was just on the edge of being in a critical condition, I was able to get the tera-stored power off, destroy the shield, AND get full health for his attack to get back to normal. Kudos!

This worked perfectly for me! The 3 chilling waters enable you to immediately terastallize after setting everything up which helped immensely

Appreciate you going turn by turn and showing the solo battle. I had to improvise the order a bit and add some more slack offs, but the comments that said Greninja resetting your stats was based on the timer really saved me.
One run I missed every stored power and had to restart because I ran out of PP.
The very next run I hit every stored power and greninja missed almost every hydro pump and never crit me with night slash, so I caught it!

I was actually able to solo this raid with slowbro, sure took little extra time but the damage you deal in the end with shell bell healing is just so satisfying and been able to farm this easily and get my inventory stocked up
I’ve been trying to farm the Greninja but if it’s not random crits it’s stored powers missing and I swear I have a k/d ratio of like 2/8
How are you farming him successfully as I’m also using shell bell?
Gastrodon is SO good for this. The combo of storm drain SP attack increase and Earth power SP defense decrease is great. I personally run Clear smog just to get rid of the double team boost
Storm Drain/water absorb are moot. Without ability shield. He wipes your Buffs turn 3

Currently with my experience on his turns.
Turn 1: Toxic Spikes and Double Team
Turn 3: Cleanse Buffs
Turn 6: Shield Up
Turn 12: Cleanse Debuffs
After Shield Down: Double Team
After hitting 1/4 HP: Double Team
Currently I am using Bellibolt who synergizes decently well with the Clodsires, Slowbros and Toxapex that are being used. Special mention to Gastrodons who use Mud Slap, Chilling Water and Clear Smogs at correct times so that I never miss and become invincible since Hydro Pump is a 3hko on Bellibolt (5 if you use Assault Vest), which means you never die if the Double Teams are cleansed. Doesn't even matter if it is neutral SpD, Bellibolt wins the War of Attrition.
We used two clodsire and two kefkey it worked well :)
What moves you use on Bellibolt? And can you solo or are you reliant on them to debuff him and clear his buffs?
@@jjgarcia156 Solo is rng, but possible. Online, if you see Acid Sprayers, you can literally spam Parabolic Charge and beat the raid boss unless you miss 2x in a row. Most allies spam heal cheers since some are using Kingambits, Klefkis and Slowbros, so you should literally spam A, Terrastalize and continue spamming A to win.

Assault Vest/Shell Bell
Parabolic Charge
Acid Spray
Mud Slap
Chilling Water
Electric Terrain
Light Screen
The 2 moves you always need are Parabolic and Acid Spray. The last 4 attacks can be interchanged depending on if you are using Assault Vest or not.
Slowbro dies easily to night slash.

Thank you for saving out sanity. I should have known to follow your builds again, but thought I'd test out another... regret soon followed lol. I made x2 of each Clodsire, Klefki and Toxtricity that I created from another youtuber build over the last few days and sadly with just my Hubby and I we couldn't bring Greninja down. We tried multiple move combos and different mixes of the three pokemon but it just became more and more frustrating. Maybe we were just unlucky and ran out of heals or missed connecting hits too often. We ended up using your x2 Slowbrow (that we honestly didnt make last time but were using Charcadet and Iron Moth worked out good for our Cinderace runs) and ko'd him much easier and less stressful. We only tend to play just the two of us and you honestly haven't let us down with your guidance. Thank you
Thanks a ton! The step by step at the end was super helpful. I beat Greninja on my first try with this Slowbro strat. I used leftovers instead of shell bell, the same way I beat Cinderace. It made setup safer, but the rest of the fight much scarier. I had to use slackoff several times to stay alive.

Super thankful for how quick you got this out to the community. Was worried about the upload gap. Just a reminder I along with many others would watch you break down paint drying.
I would very much like to see him break down paint drying. Might even pay big bucks to see such a thing.
I used the move strategy listed at 9:02 and it worked out for me (caught in a Dive Ball, which I think fits the coloration well enough), though had to try it two times. What's weird though is that after the Slack Off, it doesn't immediately Remove Opponent Stats. Best edit to that strategy is that, after the Slack Off, wait a bit for the Greninja to get off the Stat Removal and then do the Iron Defense, Nasty Plot, Stored Power.

Good guide. Followed your video with the exception of throwing in a couple extra “slack offs” because my health got low and I got scared. It’s great that the only time it removes your buffs is so early in the fight.
I really love how they are doing these 7* raids twice. ^^ It gives people a LOT of time to prepare for the 2nd time. Especially after you and others give us strategies like these to work with. 🥰👍❤️
I do wish that they did less of the 7* raids and give us something like a side quest or something to earn the starters through that. Especially seeing the absence of side quests in this game. 😅

Gastrodon is unstoppable. EVs to Def and Sp Def. Storm drain. Mud-slap, clear smog, earth power and whatever. Quiet nature. Holding zoom lens. Start with clear smog then spam mud slap. Tera to ground and switch to earth power. Storm drain has prob boosted your Sp attack a couple times by then. The slap works. I just mud slap again after the shield breaks and then go to town. Can drop his accuracy faster than he can raise evasiveness. Survivability is great. Have even carried a bunch of randos in multi several times with it.
It seems that mud-slap to -4 is the sweet spot to me. This build keeps him pretty nuked and gives plenty of time for someone else to build a stored power if they want to.
Good to hear slowbro still works for the raid , so far i made it using Lucario as support with life dew for healing teammates specially having a slow bro in the team

9:03 this is all you need if you have a Slowbro made up. Be sure to swap to a Shell Bell from the Life Orb, and Terastalize on T13. Just did it on my third attempt with AI, with an Intimidate Arcanine affecting stats early.
The turn breakdown was SUPER HELPFUL! All I had to do was throw in a couple of Slack Offs (maybe only 2?) in between the turn breakdown. Great breakdown for people who just wanna get it done! Thanks Austin!

The opportunist build you had for Espathra seems really nice with those double teams if I might say
I use opportunist espartha w/ mirror herb for ranked doubles. It’s clutch especially if you have a pokemon who knows recycle(klefki or flapple/appletun), and instruct(oranguru).
@@jaredhubbard7095 ehy would you put opportunist with mirror herb? Thats redundant as hell the ability does the same thingvas the item multiple times instead of one
@@shadowdragun Opportunist and Mirror Herb stack on top of eachother, so an Opportunist Mirror Herb Espathra set would boost even more than one that has one or the other.
I have a shiny 1 setup, would that be good for this raid? U get double team boosts from opportunist right?
It has night slash, why would you bring in Espathra? It's physically frail, and it doesn't get the free defense boost it got against Cinderace, PLUS cinderace didn't even have a supereffective move for Espathra.

The trick with slowbro is to turn 1 defense cheer. This goes before his night slash and lasts through the stat nullification. Night Slash hits like a wet noodle after that

@@shadowdragun it is but it still did decent enough chip damage while I set up plus bonus of minor healing from the terrain. It was surprisingly helpful, especially from an NPC in a solo raid

Gastrodon can get Acid Armor as an egg move to use instead of Curse. My moveset is Acid Armor, Amnesia, Earth Power, Muddy Water/Clear Smog

I caught mine in a luxury ball just like Charizard and Cinderace. I just figure I wanted them all in matching balls and luxury balls just kinda fit the vibe of being like high class and stuff, which the 7 star raid Pokemon feel like. I used Slowbro to win but I was struggling in solo because of double team (I missed half my attacks) so I went online and did it with some random players on Discord. The other players had Lucario, Clodsire, and Gastrodon I think. The shield ended up breaking right before I hit 12 buffs and I one shot it from there.
I did Fast Ball for both Charizard and Cinderace and then Lure Ball for Greninja, idk if this might be the first time we can get a Greninja with a Apricorn Ball tho
I'm planning on catching mine with a premier ball for the sole fact that its "rare"
My dumbass caught charizard in a premier ball instead of luxury ball and had to follow that for the other two to keep with the theme

I used Slowbro (Iron Defense, Nasty Plot, Stored Power) but as a 4th move I put Trick Room, it helps a lot if you are in a group, also because almost all of us use very slow pokemon,
In solo don't need but who knows, maybe it's convenient for others.

Great video as always!! Going to be trying out Slowbro and I can't wait to get crit hit all the time cause that's how my gamer luck works.
I beat him on my 3rd try with Clodsire with Recover, Curse, Amnesia and Earthquake with Water Absorb for the Ability and Adamant nature with Tera Ground and Weakness Policy as held item.
I ended up swapping amnesia for mudslap and holding life orb. I found amnesia and curse to be redundant
I soloed with the slowbro build I used with Cenderace. It’s time consuming, but completely doable. It does have night slash, but you just might have to use slack off a couple times. It will de buff you once early, but after that, just business as usual, 3 iron defense, 3 buffs to your attack then stored power till you knock it off

Good typing/Special defense, access to dual screens/skitter smack/helping hand.
It's guaranteed to stay alive to help with cheers as well. Keep the Slowbro healthy for the one-shot.
I used assualt vest Tinkaton and it worked well as a result
8:37 I'm surprised you never noticed this, but when you burst the shield, the next turn he will not attack with any regular moves, I don't know about the extra ones though

Tips from a Greninja raid slayer:
1. Gastradon is more reliable than Slowbro.
2. For Gastradon EV's: Max Special attack and make both Def and Sp. Def in the 200's.
3. Give Gastradon a leftover tool
4. Be sure Gastradon's teratype is earth and that it knows earth power (this TM lowers opponent's Sp. Def everytime it inflicts damage).
5. If your playing online be sure to have a bulky party but also make sure at least one of the party members doesn't have any water absorb ability so Greninja will casually use water attacks for your Gastradon to absorb it. This will raise Gastrodon's Sp. Attack.
6. Spam earth power and be sure to terastalize ASP. Hitting the Greninja 8 times with Earth power while terastalizing usually knocks Greninja out.

@@KiraNightV just wanted to update the Gastradon strategy: use harden and heal appropriately prior to Greninja's shield, then harden twice after shield, then use earth power, terrastalize to earth then spam earth power until you knock out Greninja (I recommend max PP for earth power). This strategy works well for both solo and online team raids on Greninja.
@@theawesomeman9821 Thank you for the update! For me, Chilling Water worked well enough. I start with a Defense Cheer, Clear Smog, 2 Chilling Water then I Tera and start spamming Earth Power
@@KiraNightV cool. Glad the Gastradon strategy is working for you even if you have to tweak it for your liking. I've been testing other Pokemon builds for round two of Greninja but having figured out anything unique that other UA-camrs haven't covered. Please let me know if you have any other proven successful builds for the Greninja raids.
This raid is super easy with a friend. We use clodsires as supports to gastrodon. Clodsire can lower greninja's sp def and increase gastrodon's sp atk. Our sets:

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpD

Another idea which could be a funny gimmick is to use an Avalugg with the Sturdy ability, and hold Shell Bell, and have Mirror Coat. Just make sure that the other Pokemon in the raid have Intimidate so it will be forced to use it's special move on you. Just use mirror coat, shell bell restores your health back to full health, repeat.
Unfortunately Shell Bell heals for 1/8 of the damage dealt, so you will never heal to full. You are basically healing 2HP/8, so you’ll get 1/4 of your hp back.

Your raid spotlights are invaluable, I can honestly say that I was able to breeze through because of your advice. Why Shell Bell on a mon using 90% setup moves though? Slowbro swept Charizard & Greninja holding lowly Leftovers every time whereas I got lucky ringing the bell. That's the only tweak I'd make to the build.

Thanks for the help! I used my shiny Slowbro - following your recommendations, and finally got him!
Here's a thought: Why not try having Slowbro hold Weakness Policy? After turn 3 Greninja will still try and hit you with Night Slash, it'll waste fewer turns for setup and further increase the power of Stored Power. Just may need another turn of Slack Off. I went in without Shell Bell and I still came out alright.
Edit: Nope, sorry. I never use held items and it didn't say that it gets used up after the first super effective hit, although I should have known. My bad. Do not use this, it's pointless.

Good idea but doesn't Weakness Policy get consumed each time? Would get pricey fast.
Held items used in raids are restored after the battle in this game. Outside of raids the only actually consumable items are berries. Everything else can be activated once per battle, but is not consumed.
If it Night Slashes immediately then doesn’t this get wasted by the turn 3 debuff?

I enter a raid with my level 73 pokemon and I manged to beat it successfully (probably cuz I did it online, with like 3 slowbros 😭)
Tried this strategy last night after watching part of Reversal's stream and it works! It took me a few tries but I got the Greninja (in a Luxury Ball like the previous 7star pkmn). Fun raid to do solo. The thing is doing in groups... it was a mess. Anyway, thanks for the content and have a nice day!

Thank you for your tips! I used the same Slowbro as I did vs Cinderace, but replaced Iron Defense with Amnesia. It’s already max defense and with 2 CPU Intimidators, Greninja’s attack was real low. Amnesia helped with Hydro Pumps. Stored Power eventually did the trick. You just need to be lucky to not miss due to double team or get crit by Night Slash too much. Crazy that Azumarill and Slowbro took down 3 level 100 raids between them for me haha!

Friend of mine came up with a good pokemon build
Klefki
Nature: Sassy/Calm
Tera Type: Not important
Ability: Prankster
Item: Leftovers
EVs: Max HP, Max Sp. Def, rest in Sp. Atk
IVs: Everything but Atk and Speed
Moves: Metal Sound, Calm Mind, Iron Defense, Stored Power
Strat: Start with as many Metal Sounds as you can land before he resets your stats (may not be much, it doesn't have the best accuracy and he's got that first Doube Team as well). Setting yourself up now is pointless.
After he does the reset, start building up Calm Mind. After 3 or 4, he'll switch from Hydro Pump to Night Slash, which won't do much due to Klefki being Fairy-type.
Continue setting up with Calm Mind and Iron Defense until Def, Sp. Atk, and Sp. Def are at max, then go wild with Stored Power. If you need to, throw in a healing cheer when necessary.
This should net you a win.
