2023 I was diagnosed with cancer. 2024 I'm going strong and cancer free. I also decided to stop being pre med and that decision has lifted so much stress off my shoulders. I finally feel like I'm in control of my life again

Love this! Thanks for being open and sharing. I’m a 3rd year med student in California. I was also reflecting on this past year also. It felt tough. At the end, I thought to myself: did I even make progress? Yet looking back, I also am filled with gratitude. Was able to do a few bodybuilding competitions and win, finish clerkships strong, pass step 1, take step 2, and set up a good foundation to the start of my research fellowship year. I rediscovered your channel recently and appreciate everything you share. Your content definitely gave me the best guidance to landing in my dream med school and even now to make the most of my med student life! Wishing 2025 to be an awesome year for you! Thanks for reminding me to pause, to appreciate the wins along the way. Because we do deserve that!

Thanks for making the video, Kevin. I have had to start wearing braces around the start of 2024 and to start planning on getting jaw surgery to correct my class III bite. I also have had a serious decline in vision and have to start wearing glasses. Couple that with another serious medical issue that is going to take upwards of a year of serious physical therapy to hopefully correct, otherwise I'll have to get a risky surgery to again, "hopefully" fix it. If I learned anything it's that health is often taken for granted and we do not learn to appreciate things till we lose them. Hopefully, you can find your cure as i soon hope to find and treat all my health issues.

As someone who is taking the mcat course right now, I had high hopes but I’m finding a lot of mistakes, less visuals than I’d like (if you’re a visual learner) and it’s veryyy expensive sadly. Just for anyone out there thinking about it!

Kevin, 4-6 hours a week on cardio might actually be what's working against your strength training and muscle building goals. One tip I can give that's helped me in the gym is to do sets till failure. For example, when i do bech press, I use the squat rack and put up the safety arms on the side since I usually lift without a spotter. I always rep until I reach the rep that I can not lift anymore and have to set the bar down on the safety bars. I know everyone has different genetics but your goals are not unachievable. Keep trying different things. I also time my breaks between sets to 2 minutes, which was something I never used to do. It might help. Good luck and thanks for all the great content.

Appreciate the tips my guy. Tried everything you have suggested already. Have found best results using 5/3/1

If you've been training for more than 2 years, you should only take the last set to failure and only go to failure on big compound movements every 1-3 months. Once you reach a certain level of strength it will take your nervous system 7-10 days to recover from going to failure whereas your muscles can recover in a couple days so that's why failure should be limited

Ever try swimming with weights? I heard a couple people talk about that. It's cardio plus a bit of extra resistance.

I recommned hiring coach Greg Douchette, he's an IFBB pro and super smart, I like his explanations

Do NOT hire Coach Greg 😂. On top of being super scammy he over charges a ton. He's fun to watch and is very knowledgeable about steroids but everything else should be taken with a grain of salt
